Description
Hi! We are Cristiano and Marie, we live in Delfim Moreira in Minas Gerais.
We are working with hotels in the beautiful Serra da Mantiqueira.
We have 3 different places where we rent rooms to our clients, volunteers are staying just in one of them :
*The hotel in the city center of Delfim Moreira.
* Our house where we also rent rooms and it's the place where our volunteers are staying as well. this is located in Rosário, in the countryside of the city, 7km from the city center, surrounded by mountains.
* The third place, it is a wooden house in the middle of the forest, 24km from the city of Delfim.
We need help from the volunteers especially with the general maintenance of the house, keeping It clean and ready to welcome the guests.
This parte is really importante for us.
We have animals to tale care of (dogs, chickens and horses...), giving them food and taking good care of their needs so they stay healthy and happy.
We have a big garden and a vegetable garden to take care of as well.
Other than cleaning and gardning we usually need help with other tasks as well : It can be painting, construction, planting, organizing... this will depend of the projects that are going on in the house! We also are really open to your ideas, so feel free to think about projects that you could work on and would be great for our space, we will be happy to hear It :) And of course If you have a special skill that could help our business you are more the welcome!
We expect our volunteers to work 4 to 5 hours a day with 2 days off. We are counting on you to respect that, there is always something to do in a big house!
If you're looking for a quiet place in the middle of nature, you are going to love Oca, the landscape is beautiful!
There are some waterfalls around and nice places to walk. At the right time of the year you could do some mountain climbing as well. This is also your chance to know a real countryside city from Minas Gerais and its lifestyle.
Here it's calm, perfect for introspection, contact with nature and Animals, reading, play music and make campfires!

You will get to know the country side of Minas Gerais and the life-style people have around here. Delfim Moreira is a small and traditional city from Brazil. Our town is really safe, so you don't have to worry about security.
The place is super peaceful, a good way for you to disconnect and take the time for introspection surrounded by nature. The landscapes are beautiful, you can go for walk and visit some waterfalls :)

The volunteers are staying in a shared room, usually we welcome from one to four volunteers, depending of the demands and our needs.
FOOD :
If you want to cook your own meals we have an in-door and out-door kitchen for you to use.

Every day buses leave from São Paulo (260km) and Rio de Janeiro (290km) to Itajubá, the largest city next.
From São Paulo to Aparecida, from Aparecida to Delfim (company Pássaro Marron)
From Rio de Janeiro to Itajubá (company Cometa)
You need to tell the driver that you are going to stop in Delfim Moreira.
From Belo Horizonte 476km, (every day: company Expresso Gardenia)
From Campinas 292km, (every day: company Expresso Gardenia)
From Brasília 1184 km, (not every day: company Gontijo)
These three options you need to take a bus from Itajubá to Delfim Moreira.
In the free time you can make small trips, such as: Paraty beach and Trindade beach (140km), São Lourenço (100km), Campos do Jordão (60km), Maria da Fé (50km) e São Bento do Sapucaí (100km). There are also several small towns with great tourist spots nearby.
Also you can camping in the biggest peak of state São Paulo: Pico dos Marins. Our favorite mountain is 23 km away from the village - and 2421 meters above sea level or to the Pico do Itaguaré - the famous sleeping giant, 2308 meters abobe sea level.

Very nice place, soothing. Cristiano and Marie are superb people. We were able to do DIY, gardening and help in the house. I loved my experience with Cris's team! Although I could only stay for one week, I enjoyed a lot been in Delfim Moreira and get connected with the mountains and nature all arround. The work was easy and very flexible. I supported basically in garden, cleaning and reception.

We had an awesome time volunteering and helping for 2 weeks with the project. Cristiano is such a good person, full of dreams, very concerned about everyone needs and his project, even though is starting, is very interesting.

Cristiano welcomed us very well and made his best to make us know the different places and people around.
