The work is always varied and not complex,
and you will have plenty of time to explore Kerry, probably the most stunning county in Ireland (don't forget to visit the cliffs and Rossbeigh beach, not to mention Killarney's National Park).
I would love to mention all the invaluable details details they had with us, but it's better to experience it yourself. After having the chance to spend one month with this family we really feel in debt with them. Workaway might sometimes feel like a challenge, since you are supposed to be out of your comfort zone, but in Alohahouse you will not believe how fast it becomes your own beloved place.

Marta and Jon are great workawayers! They stayed with us for 3 weeks and they were a pleasure to have around. They did great work with any job we gave them - cleaning, gardening, painting, cooking, playing with our sons...and even helped out on our yoga retreat, which was a lot of work.

Tulga and Hannah were the perfect couple to have as Workawayers. They came with a unique set of skills, and super personalities that added to a very pleasant exchange for us as a family.
Even though it was "lockdown" during their stay with us, so our general business was not operating, they helped us so much to complete odd jobs, help with the
… read more kids and general family life. It took a lot of pressure off us and the kids also really enjoyed their company, not to mention our dog who relished in her daily walks with Tulga and Hannah.
Tulga is very talented in DIY and impressed us with his knowledge of building and fixing things. As a bonus, his Mongolian dumplings are something we remember to this day!
Hannah transformed our yoga studio with an impressive wall mural that blew our minds!

We had our own private room and bathroom which we really appreciated. Their property is beautiful and situated on a river with views of the mountains. We really enjoyed meeting and having conversations with the friendly guests that stayed . There is so much to do and see in the area around Killorglin, you will never get bored!
The work we did was never too hard and suited us perfectly. It was mainly cleaning, walking the dog, helping prepare food for guests of one of their retreats, and a few outdoor tasks. Communication with Louise and Brian was always easy and straightforward. We never felt overworked and they always made us feel that our help was very much appreciated.
We truly enjoyed every moment with this family, all of the delicious meals shared, playing soccer and jumping on the trampoline with the boys, time at the beach, cooking together, bowling, and cuddles with Shadow. It was hard to say goodbye, even just after a few weeks! We can definitely recommend this workaway, and as someone else has already said, you should consider yourself lucky if you get the chance to stay here!

We have a lot of good things to say. It is impossible to describe the feeling that we feel with this special family for a month and a half in just one text. … read more peace when we entered the door, an indescribable sensation. They accommodated us in a very comfortable room, with our own bathroom. The work was from Monday to Friday. Five hours a day. They were light and easy jobs. It was impossible to feel tired. You will love if you go to do volunteer work in aloha house. Louise and Brian have two children. Kill and Conn ... They were for us as if they were our younger brothers. We feel a lot of affection for the boys. Kill is a comedy in person, very energetic and affectionate. We will miss the children a lot 😭. As a bonus, there's Shadow, the house dog. Shadow is the cutest dog I've ever met. Shadow was very loving to us. We have nothing to murmur about this house and these people. We really feel like we're part of the family. We know Brian's brothers and cousins. They included us in every family barbecue, we were lucky. What an AMAZING experience!

Brian and Louise had us do a variety of tasks, mostly painting projects, cleaning the common areas, and sometimes special projects based on our particular skills. Our accommodation was so nice to have: our own space and private bathroom. We were always looked after for our meals and they were always so thoughtful when it came to our working hours and flexibility in the schedule. If you get a chance to stay with these guys, just do your best and they will be the most amazing hosts! We truly felt the love when David got sick and Brian and Louise offered to do so much for us. Overall, this is the ideal workaway experience!

The house is really beautiful, the town is little but nice and with all the facilities and a good bus service to Killarney. The Kerry County is amazing and The Killarney National Park and the Gap of Dunloe are wonderful.

Louise and Brian's organised approach to work was great - 5 hours a day, Monday-Friday. We helped with the clean-up after guests and general tidying of the house, along with the painting of guest rooms and some receipt sorting.
It was wonderful being walking distance to town, and we also enjoyed afternoon walks along the river.
On our weekends off, we saw many of the nearby sights - Killarney town and national park (highly recommended!), Rossbeigh Strand, the Gap of Dunloe, the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. Each of these locations are nearby and make great daytrips.

Morgane and Francois were really wonderful volunteers! They are charming and pleasant young couple who helped us so much with our house projects (painting, assembling furniture & helping in B&B) as well as with our 2 young sons.

I stayed with Louise and Brian 10 days. It was really amazing. To begin, I must say a big thanks to Louise and Brian because I needed help to find quickly an other host because I was in an uncomfortable situation, and they helped my workaway friend and I, at the last minute!

… read more indescribable! The view is breathtaking! It's really a quiet place. The rooms are so cosy!
The work was always interesting. I helped them with handwork, paint, cooking, to welcome guest when they were not available, tidy up the house... The work is really not to hard.
They are very flexible and thanks to that, we want to help them more. They worried to know if we were happy with our job, and they tried to give us tasks that we liked.
Brian and Louise have 2 little boys, really funny and endearing.
This family is amazing and really respectful. They helped me each time I needed it. I would like to stay more... Thanks to them my trip was wonderful. It's an experience that I will not forget!
