Description
Our Eco Village farm was established eight years ago in the village of Tamil Nadu. Very near to Bangalore city. From the outset, it has been an organic, Permaculture system, providing safe, nutritious food while minimizing Environmental degradation and Ecological harm caused by agricultural activity. We work hard to regenerate on-farm ecology and ecosystems, resulting in an influx of creatures that aid soil replenishment and crop growth.
The Eco Village is in its early stages of becoming a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), collaborating with local farmers to enhance livelihood stability, prosperity, and food security through regenerative farming systems. Simultaneously, we engage closely with the local community to improve employment opportunities, nutritional food security, and community empowerment. It's important to note that we are at the initial phase of our NGO operations, with ongoing construction of facilities and resource development.
Currently, we're welcoming volunteers, including individuals, groups, and families, for long-term stays. There's a lot to do and plenty of enjoyable experiences. Since our inception, we have planted a variety of crops, with millet as our main staple grain. Through permaculture design, we produce organic fruits, vegetables, and pulses. As construction nears completion, more time will be dedicated to farming. Until then, we greatly appreciate the assistance, as the workload is substantial.
We hope volunteers feel a sense of belonging on the farm and can be adaptable with their time commitment, averaging around 5 hours per day. Longer and shorter days may occur. The local village and nearby towns offer numerous attractions, with available transportation to places like Bangalore. Our farm is situated close to a forest that supports interconnected lakes surrounding the village, creating an idyllic setting. Historic temples and ruins are also within reach for curious explorations. The village is teeming with diverse animals, including buffalo, cows, goats, chickens, and dogs. We often visit and are visited by many friendly creatures.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Learning Opportunities and Cultural Exchange:
At our Eco Village, we offer a diverse range of learning opportunities and cultural exchanges. Participants can engage in permaculture design and organic/natural farming practices, as well as learn about natural building techniques like cob, rammed earth, and earth-bag houses. You'll have the chance to explore traditional cuisine cooking, compost creation, natural fertilizer production, and seed cultivation.
Amidst serene old forests, you can gather fruits while also assisting the farm in integrating on-farm production units that enhance local employment through cooperative efforts. Engage in soap making, connect with local families, friends, and children, and even contribute by sharing your own skills. A special emphasis is placed on teaching English language and information technology skills to village children.
While we are not yet a formal organization and cannot offer official certificates or a structured volunteer program, we are committed to ensuring your comfort, safety, and happiness during your time at the farm. We learn together as we work, ensuring a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Although our current accommodations are simple and basic, we discuss all these details through personal email communication. If this piques your interest or you'd like to learn more, please send us a message, and we'll respond as soon as possible. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome you to our community!Aide
The tasks involved at our farm are adaptable and change based on the farm's and organization's current needs. Our main activities revolve around caring for crops, planting trees, cultivating seeds, and performing general farm duties such as mulching, creating raised beds, weeding, and digging holes for saplings and new seeds.
Depending on your interests and capabilities, we also invite volunteers to assist with construction tasks. Currently, we're in the process of establishing our buildings and facilities. Some of the ongoing projects include constructing roofs for cottage houses, crafting seating areas with cob, tiling the farmhouse, setting up a small nursery, creating a butterfly garden, and establishing a kitchen garden. Our immediate focus is on completing tree planting holes, establishing a meditation and yoga space, enhancing spaces for children, and furthering our bio-fertilizer efforts.
No prior experience is required, but a commitment to working in harmony with nature is greatly valued.Langues

The climate remains cool and refreshing throughout the year. The Krishnagiri region boasts a museum, ancient forts, and temples, all contributing to its historical charm. Tourists are drawn to the Krishnagiri Dam and reservoir annually. Our village is closest to Bangalore, making it easily accessible.
