  Description

  Our Space in Varkala is a serene, sustainable space blending nature, adventure & community. Volunteers help with eco-projects, events & guest experiences!
  
  This initiative is a for profit space, while we run a parallel non profit initiative of nurturing social leaders and changemakers, which we organize our leadership programs by using this space as our venue and we use the profit from this initiative for cross subsidization to our non-profit initiative.
  
  We do have two premium cottages with a common kitchen and balcony area and two classic cottages, with 2 rooms inside each of the classic cottages along with the seperate Hall space and kitchen to each classic cottage. There is a multipurpose hall, separate sitting area and beautiful lake front outdoor event space, a traditional fishing boat, a motored fishing boat and a platform towards the water, through which you can see splendid sunrise as well as the sunset everyday.
  
  We also have all the life jacket support and people with swimming expertise in our space, which would help you swim everyday, in this amazing lake.
  
  The Varkala Cliff beach is also not far away from our space, which makes your experience more joyful at our space.

  At our space, Workawayers will have the opportunity to connect with our team, local community, and travelers from around the world. You’ll experience the warm hospitality of Kerala and engage in cultural exchanges through shared meals, traditional Kerala cooking, and storytelling sessions with our team and guests. We encourage Workawayers to participate in local events, interact with artisans, and explore the unique heritage of Varkala. You’ll also learn skills like event hosting, sustainable tourism practices, and nature-based activities such as kayaking and guided lake tours. We love learning from the diverse perspectives of those who stay with us, whether it’s new languages, creative skills, or fresh ideas for sustainability and community building. More than just a volunteering opportunity, We offer a space to grow, share, and build meaningful connections in a serene lakeside setting.

  At our space, we welcome Workawayers who enjoy a mix of hospitality, creativity, and community engagement. You can help with guest experience by assisting with check-ins, sharing local insights, and ensuring visitors have a memorable stay. If you're creative, you can contribute to promotion through photography, videography, and social media content. You can also support workshops, retreats, and cultural gatherings. We have sustainability projects like gardening and upcycling, as well as organizing kayaking, boat rides, and nature explorations. Beyond help, you can enjoy bonfires, stargazing, sunrise swims, and great conversations by the lake. We work together as a team, ensuring a balance between contributing and enjoying the space. If you love nature, hospitality, sustainability, and creative expression, you’ll feel right at home!

  Hébergement

  Workawayers will mostly stay in one of our comfortable rooms when available. During peak times when rooms are occupied by guests, accommodation will be in the security room or tents, which we provide along with bedding. The space is clean, secure, and surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful stay. We cook the food together, Workawayers are welcome to join in cooking the meals together; and during the times in which we do not cook, we get food from the places, we get homely-food. All these food will be provided for the workawayers. At the kitchen space you can cook your own meals if you prefer so. We encourage a communal and collaborative environment, where we share meals, stories, and cultural experiences together. You'll have access to basic amenities, including clean washrooms, fresh drinking water, and common areas to relax, work, or connect with others. Whether in a room, security space, or tent, the setting ensures a cozy and immersive stay by the lake.

  During their time off, Workawayers can explore the beautiful surroundings of Varkala, known for its stunning cliffs, pristine beaches, and vibrant cultural scene. The Varkala Cliff, local markets, and Ayurvedic wellness centers are just a short ride away. For those who love adventure, kayaking, canoeing, and exploring the mangroves are available right at our space.
  
  Public transport options, including buses and auto-rickshaws, are easily accessible, and we can help arrange taxis or scooters for more convenience.
  
  As a community-focused space, we maintain a peaceful and respectful environment. We expect Workawayers to be mindful of the surroundings, keep shared spaces clean, and respect the privacy of guests. While we encourage meaningful conversations and social interactions, we also believe in giving everyone personal space to relax and recharge.

For campers, we provide tents and bedding, ensuring a comfortable stay amidst nature. There are designated areas for relaxation, including hammocks and common seating spots where you can enjoy the tranquil surroundings. For those traveling with motorhomes, there is space available for parking, and we can provide access to essential facilities, including charging points and water supply. While we do not have a dedicated camper van setup, we welcome travelers who enjoy minimalist and nature-immersed stays. Whether you're camping under the stars, waking up to the sound of the lake, or enjoying a sunrise over the water, Our space provides a unique outdoor experience that blends comfort with adventure.
