Description
We are three people in my family. My two children and myself. I own a small school of English. We teach all ages. We believe in teaching through games, art and music. We believe in happy students. Because we are an educational project, it´s very important that Workawayers could stay at least 6/8 weeks with us. We belong to the aboriginal people Mapuche, we believe and respect our ancestors and nature. We celebrate our "Wiñoi tripantu" our New Year on June 24th.

Travellers can learn Spanish, can travel around Argentina some weekends with the host family. They will be able to live and enjoy the Argentinian way of life. I belong to a "bike" group and I also go swimming, all activities where the traveller can join. I have a lot of friends all over the country and South America, and my house is a diversity friendly house. Also the traveller will have the chance of learnig how to teach a Language since we have a weekly meeting and we love to teach how to teach.

I'd like to have help teaching English in my school. The teaching should be through interactive practice like conversation, games, music, art projects, cooking, etc. I'm interested in Cultural exchange, so it would be very exciting if the traveller could speak and show about their country. We organize Camps, for example Spring Camp, or Halloween camp! We need help during these weekends. I think it's very positive if the workawayer can provide their own insight in our projects too. To bring an overall idea of how they can contribute would be so helpful!
Catriel is a very small community, my house is next to the school, the travellers don't need to commute. And they can spend time with my son who is now 14 he loves chess, playing the piano, the guitar and of course, playing with his computer!Langues

We live in a cozy house. The traveller will have their own bedroom and will share the bathroom with the family. If the traveller decides to stay for long the families who send their children to our school will also be happy to host them. Our house has a kitchen, dinning room and living room, as well as a small patio. It's in the centre of the city which by the way is a small town, so we don't need public transport or taxis, everything can be done cycling or walking. About food we follow a healthy diet which includes lots of vegetables, fruit, grains, etc, but if you live in Argentina it's very difficult not to eat beef, though we don't eat that much. Vegetarians are welcome. We don't eat fried meals or fatty meals. We don't eat much flour but some homemade pizzas from time to time are ok. Also, if the traveller is a bread consumer he can buy their own. We consume vegetable milk and there is no butter at home.Alcohol is allowed but drunk people are not welcome. We usually have wine at home but if the traveller wants to drink beer or anything extra they will have to buy their own. We expect the traveller to help doing the housework, like tidyng their bedroom, helping with the washing up, feeding the pets, taking the garbage out, etc, in fact, being one more member of the family.

We live in Patagonia, one of the most beautiful spots in the world, and the helper will have most of weekends including Fridays, free. So they can visit Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes or cross the border to Chile in less than 8 hours. There are very good buses leaving our city everyday. We also live one and a half hour from Neuquen, Mari Menuco, lago Pellegrini, about two hours from El Chocon, all beautiful places to go for weekends. If they want to travel a bit further and see whales, penguins, sea lions and sea wolves they can travel to Peninsula Valdes or Puerto Madryn for the weekend too. If the want to go north they can visit Mendoza at the weekend as well, there are lots of buses going there every day. All the trips take overnight but long distance buses are wonderfully comfortable in Argentina. My son rides a horse, so if the traveller decides to stay home fot the weekend we always have a good plan at home!
