Description
Hello ! ... I'm David.
A mature english guy who has discovered a serene paradise here in the forest hills close to the Gorge du Verdon in the south of France.
The duties are gardening/ help to build small structures within the garden/ watering plants/ cleaning and tidiying, (we have a lot of building materials stored at the entrance of the garden) these need to be moved and some things need to be taken to the local tip.
We also need help with daily house work, (just one hour a day). We arsk for a total of 4 hours help per day/ 5 day week.
We provide food and non-alcoholic drinks for you.
We have 2 very strict rules : No grilling or outside fires. Not even on the terrace. We are living in the middle of a very dry forest. It's a NO-GO !!!
For insurance reasons we cannot offer you bicycles. A bike is great to have, so if you want you can pick up a second hand one from the local flea-market...and sell it on when you leave.
I accept volunteers who can stay a minimum of 7 days. Depending on availability, you may be able to stay longer.
You must have a down-to-earth/ non-fussy mentality to fit into this simple style of living. Please see our feedback !
I'm looking for helpers to organise and clean the inside/ exterior of the house and tidy up the garden by cutting bushes etc. The work is straightforward and varied...and you will have plenty of spare time to explore the beautiful surroundings.
While staying at the house you will be organising your own meals and cooking on a three ring calor gas stove, (no oven).
You will have your own private-sphere accommodation in the garden in our small caravan, clip-car, motor-home, stone cube house ot wooden chalet. This accommodation is limited to 5 places for singles and they chalet for couples/friends....and is offered on a first-come-first serve basis.
A headlamp or batterie-torch is advisable.
Staying at the house is very much a back-to-basics experience and you will be outside your comfort zone, but if you love nature and the outdoors and have a sense of humour it will be a wonderful experience, as you can see by the feedback.. It's a bit like glamping...
Living here and being able to enjoy the peace of nature also means that there are no nearby shops, cafes etc. The next town is a 7 km hike.
You have 2 free days per week.
We have guitars on offer + board games.

I am easy going and offer you a fun time.... a healthy mixture of work, pleasure and relaxation in a very beautiful location.
During your free time and on your days off you can take a bus, (which costs just €1.50 per journey) and explore the amazing Cote d'Azur coastline which is approximately 12km from away.

Jürgen and David live a different life. For some it may be unusual. The rustic house and the grounds are like in a fairy tale. Jürgen has a lot to tell historically. The hospitality is great. How to describe those 2 crazy guys!? They are warm hearted, you feel directly at home in the flat and always welcome when you go to their place.
