Hi
We live on a 5 acres farm in rolling hills on the northern edge of Perth, near a national park that is a delight for bushwalkers. We work hard but also have fun each night around the fire drinking wine and talking and lots of stories.
We have chickens, cats and dogs (we breed Mini Schnauzers), plus as you can see, we are building the crazy "Witch's house"
Meg is into Permaculture. Graeme is into car restoration, building with wood and metal. Both of us love entrepreneurship and run businesses from home.
Accommodation is basic, in our sleep over building - comfy bed, lights, good Wifi, Kitchen, and power. The toilet is a rustic composting type, not for the delicate person.
We really enjoy having backpackers stay. You guys are so interesting!
One thing though, We are big meat eaters so no special diets please accept gluten free.

Our property is situated 10 minutes drive from the local town, Bullsbrook, and 1 hour drive from the middle of Perth. Local public transport is a bus that runs a few times a day and connects to the Perth train network. There is the possibility of using one of our cars for sane, competent drivers :)
We have great WiFi too! The food and wine is tops...

Aide
During the Aussie summer it's hot, so main help is watering the gardens, feeding the chickens, cooking, cleaning up and sometimes caring for puppies. Occasionally there may be also "cool" under cover building jobs on our strawbale house project depending on your interest and what we are up to at the time.

We offer a separate building for accommodation, We lived there for 12 years before the house was finished enough to move in., and an underground bunker if preferred, and we all eat together for lunch and dinner.. Owing to one recent backpacker who left after just one night because she "didn't like bugs" and said our listing was misleading in this regard, we thought it wise to clarify: It is possible for the odd beetle or whatever to get into the room now and then. In addition, we have a basic, inside composting toilet that might scare some people! But you can have a nice shower every night and all the normal amenities. Most backpacker-type adventurers love it here :).
We will pay hourly rate for good couple if we have extra work and you are good for it.

There is the famous Swan Valley with many cafes, chocalatiers, wineries etc not far away. It is also just a few hours from tourist attractions such as the New Norcia monastery, the Pinnacles, Cohuna Wildlife Park, the Maze and water playground, and Perth and Fremantle of course. We also occasionally make a small car available for use by visitors.

Though he only stayed a week, Andre was a wonderful help. He is great with all kinds of landscaping jobs, not afraid to get his hands dirty, and a strong and steady worker. Stephanie was great to have around. Her laugh is infectious! She is a good helper, especially for inside jobs. Excellent with paperwork, copy writing and her coleslaw is to die for :). Happy travels lovely and feel free to drop back in if you ever come this way again.

Cam was a sweet girl, happy and fun to have around. She shared her flair for building Wix websites and marketing with us by building us a fantastic website and helping produce and promote a trailer for a video project. She also was not scared to lend a hand with the heavy, hot work of building whenever we needed her.

We had a great time with Meg and Graeme. They are both absolutely lovely and fun.
We wanted to stay for a week but ended up staying a whole month even though we only have 3 months in total in Australia!

Richard is smart guy and a hard worker. Despite the sometimes hot conditions, he got stuck into whatever job we gave him (mostly building at the time) with great energy and enthusiasm and always carried out the work to an excellent standard. He was also interesting to talk to and we enjoyed many wines together at night around the fire.

We had a great experience there, with two very forthcoming hosts in all regards. Be it conversations about anything possible, or the very good provided food. Being with the dogs was always a pleasure and the work was not always easy, but rewarding.
Especially the taste of movies will stay with us for a long time. ;)

We had our first experience of wwoofing with Meg and Graeme and it was awesome! They are cool laid-back people with many interesting stories and hobbies. We got to stay in an underground bunker and help them with gardening and building a house.

We stayed 2 weeks at Meg and Graeme's place were we really enjoyed living in the old caravan and working outside! They advised us in many things also to improve our gardening skills. We were there for 2 weeks it was amazing. We were with them on Christmas and we felt part of their family. We met a lot of good friends of them. We were in a good environment. Thank you very much for everything. We hope to see them when we will come back from Sydney.✌️✌️✌️

Graeme and Meg are wonderful people, and you will be at pains to find a couple as lively and interesting as they are. They allow you to work at a leisurely pace, and they take very good care of you. I ended up staying longer than I'd expected because it felt a little like home. Also, they have awesome internet!

Teddy is a tireless worker and never complains about the heat. He is also really pleasant to be around. We enjoyed having him as part of our family for 3 weeks and he almost single-handedly weed-whacked 5 acres on his own! Thanks Teddy :)

Judy and Rob were keen and friendly. Unfortunately however Rob contracted an exotic illness from Indonesia just before he got here and was laid up for a week with Judy supporting him. Judy helped out where she could. Great Workawayers but not happy in the heat or cold. Thanks guys.
