We are a busy & fun family of 5, originally from Belgium but moved to Perth over 15 years ago. Our family consists of mum (Sofie), 2 girls (aged 16 & 14) and our cheeky boy twins (10 years old).
Sofie works mostly from home as an accountant and needs help with household chores, gardening and occasional babysitting of the kids. I have hosted workawayers from several countries (Germany, Belgium, Japan, Holland, Korea, UK, Switzerland, Canada, France,…) and love sharing experiences and hearing about your travel stories.
We live in a spacious home, right by a beautiful beach, about 25 km north of Perth. If you love the ocean & beach, you will love our suburb.
During the week, we are busy with school and work, home work, preparing dinner and relaxing in the evening. On the weekend, we like to go to the beach or the park, basketball games, go shopping or swim in the pool. You are welcome to join our family activities on the weekend, or do you own exploring/sight seeing or meeting your friends, the choice is yours.
If you are organised, reliable & positive, and enjoy doing household chores, we would love to hear from you! We can offer a stay of minimum 1 week, up to 3 months. For 2 people/a couple, we can offer a 1 week stay maximum.
We cannot host smokers.

Our area has lots of workawayers, so you will have the opportunity to meet people from different nationalities, make new friends and explore Perth together. If you would like to make some extra money, there are a few local cafes where you could work as a waitress in the evening or on the weekend, which some of our previous workswayers have done.

*please note, for couples or 2 friends wanting to stay together, we only have stays of 1 week available while the kids are at their dad’s house (due to room availability) *
We would like you to help with our household (tidying, cleaning, organising), garden & babysitting. The kids spend one week with me and one week at their dad’s house. When they are with me, help includes getting things ready for school in the morning, preparing their lunch box, helping with dinner prep in the afternoon, and helping around the house with cleaning, tidying and kids laundry. When they are with their dad, the help involves mostly household work and garden maintenance. At certain times I will be able to help out, but most of the work is for you to do independently.
We ask for 4 hours of help per day, Monday to Friday. Weekends are free for you to explore Perth, do sight seeing trips or meet up with friends.
During the week when the kids are at my house, I need about 30min of help in the morning, getting the kids ready for school (breakfast, dressing in uniform, making school lunchbox, tidying kitchen after breakfast). In the afternoon, I just need help with some dinner preparations (cutting vegetables, cooking pasta, setting the table,...). I also need help in the household, with vacuuming, dishes, cleaning, tidying, kids laundry, organising cupboards, watering plants,... Some nights I will need some babysitting for the kids. They are quite independent and just need someone to supervise them.
During the week when the kids are at their dad’s, I require help with tidying, cleaning, laundry and some gardening. This can include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning kids bathroom, making beds, weeding, lawn mowing, cutting plants etc. Depending on your skills I also have some repair or paint jobs available.
We are flexible with the schedule and will accommodate your requirements as well.

Hébergement
We live in a spacious home with a pool, right opposite a beautiful quiet beach. You will have a private room with bed, desk and cupboard, and access to a private bathroom. We have a bicycle for you to use.

We live about 25km north of Perth city, by the beach. Our local beach is sandy & quiet and you can see many beautiful sunsets here. There is also a long path along the coast, ideal for walking, cycling or running. We live close to a bus stop which heads to Perth's largest shopping centre (Lakeside Joondalup) and then continues on via train to Perth city centre.
