They have 10 amazing cows that I had to feed every day and that I loved so much, and two fabulous dogs Ralph and Laureen.
Sophie was patient with my English and she explained me everything making sure I understood it, she is an amazing girl, always smiling and ready to help with any problem, she is very communicative and she loves very much her work.
I also had the possibility to ride Diego, a stallion Connemara pony very nice and cute.
It was my first experience with Workaway and I can say that it couldn't be better, thank you very much Sophie and Charles!Feedback

I spent 6 weeks at Ardoon and it was a great experience!
Sophie is an amazing host, who’s funny and generous :) there was a lot of work, but it was never too much. I learned so much about horses, breeding and how to handle foals, but I also learned so much about myself :)

Sophie and Charles are perfect hosts! I really enjoyed the 2 weeks I spent at Ardoon stud farm. Sophie is a very generous person with a good heart, always open to discussion and will be there to help you if needed. The work is not complicated and perfect if you like to work independently. The horses are magical and all very nice.

Sophie is a great and very generous host who really takes the time to get to know her workawayers. This made me feel very welcome and appreciated and created a really good work environment. There is always something to do and working hours may vary, but it was
… read more never too much. Some days everyone did their own thing and other days we all worked together, but it was always on a very respectful, fun and eye-to-eye level. I worked some weekends and got other days off in return, which was an amazing opportunity to travel around Ireland.
I loved all of the animals and really enjoyed working with them. They are all friendly and active, so working with them is never dull.
There bus stops right outside the stud farm, making it is very easy to go on daytrips to Dublin, Newbridge, Kildare and other nearby towns.
Workawayers have their own shared appartment, which was a great way to hang out and get to know each other after work.

My experience here was awesome! Sophie was so kind and patient with me and the other two who were staying. The accommodations were nice there is an apartment just for the Workawayers so you really get to know each other well, but you also get your own room which is very nice! Overall, this was a great first Workaway experience and I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be outdoors a lot, hang out with some horses, and chat with some lovely people.

Sophie is really kind, generous, caring and funny ! I stayed only for less than a week at Sophie’s place but I really enjoyed my short stay. I immediatly felt like I was a part of the family. She is very good with dogs, horses, cats and cows! Viviane even rode Diego, our newly broken-in 3yo stallion. I hope Viviane finds a way to carry-on being involved with horses as she is a natural with all animals. Viviane is very aware of people around her and eager to get to work. After 5 weeks time I got very attached to these 2 lovely puppies <3 There’re plenty things to do like painting, gardening, ironing and general house maintenance. Also casual daily tasks to feed the cats, dogs, and horses, occasionally help to prepare the boxes for horses. In general I enjoyed very much my stay with Sophie, Charles, 2 puppies, cats, horses, other workawayers, and the staff Thomas is very sharing and willing to teach you, also fun to be with!! I stayed with Sophie for a bit less than three weeks but time went by so fast. I LOVED staying with Sophie, she such a sweet and kind person, super much fun to be around, happy all the time and very generous. Charles is very nice as well and funny but since he works in London he is only there on weekends.

… read more painting, checked on the horses, brought them in the stables and did a bit of mucking out. Their property is huge and the grass green scenery is beautiful! Sophie usually eats very healthy and mostly "continental European" food. Their two dogs are quite big but totally friendly and playful.

We helped Sophie for two weeks, with an other workawayer (Paolo), to repaint a whole appartment. It was a really relaxed, not hard and stressless work. We even worked more than she asked.

We were with paolo, in a nice and new apparement. I was very lucky that my italian workawayer cooked for me every day a lot of delicious italian meals. We also had two really nice dinners with sophie and charles. The food was great and really tasty (especially the roasted leg of lamb with mint sauce).
Sophie was really a great host. She is nice, has a really good sense of humour and will always help you to improve your english.
I would love to come back in the future for spending more time with sophie and see the evolution of the house !
