🌿 Welcome to my creative forest
My name is Salvatore and I live in a special place: a small forest that I have learned to listen to and care for over the years. Here, nature, creativity, and simple life intertwine every day. My project was born from the desire to create a sustainable, welcoming, and inspiring space where people from all over the world can share time, energy, and thoughts.
🌱 What move me to look for help:
I have been retired for several years, and what used to be my job, like gardening and greenhouse management, landscape study, nowadays is my passion and not anymore my job. I would like to share my passion and knowledgement with other people who would like to know, including through Workaway. Although me and my life-friend on in years, we stay active by cultivating plants and managing a quite large garden on our land as well a quite large fruit garden and vegetable garden for our own consumption.
What we will do together:
the help changes with the seasons, but revolves around a few great themes:
Wood and greenery care: maintenance of paths and natural spaces; small gardening tasks, leaf collection, and light pruning; help improve the forest ecosystem with natural methods;
Life in the woods: arrangement and improvement of common spaces; small creative repairs and manual labor; tidiness, light cleaning, and daily routines;
Art, colors, and creativity: the help is deeply rooted in creativity: I write, paint, and compose. If you'd like, you can participate in small artistic and decorative projects, creation of natural installations, writing, music, or free painting activities.
Sea, nature, and connections. We're close to the sea, and alternate our daily tasks often with moments exploration, swimming in the sea, walks in the Salento Paths, wildlife observation, or simple chats under the trees.
What awaits you here? A quiet place, surrounded by plants and trees, close to the enchanting Salento sea coast, famous for its transparent water. Natural spaces, sincere conversations, music and words, the opportunity to leave a tangible mark in our place.
Who I'm looking for: Curious people, respectful of nature and people, who want to contribute with their hands and heart in maintaining and improving our place.
No experience necessary: just an open-mindedness and a practical spirit.
🌿 Benvenuti nella foresta creativa di Salvatore
Mi chiamo Salvatore e vivo in un luogo speciale: una piccola foresta che ho imparato ad ascoltare e a custodire negli anni. Qui natura, creatività e vita semplice si mescolano ogni giorno. Il mio desiderio è creare uno spazio sostenibile, accogliente e che sia di ispirazione per l'arte, dove persone da tutto il mondo possano condividere arte, tempo, energie e pensieri.
🌱 Cosa mi spinge a cercare collaborazione:
Sono in pensione da diversi anni ma la passione è ancora attiva! Mi piacerebbe condividere la mia passione per le piante e per la natura con altre persone e trasmettere loro la mia profonda conoscenza nel campo dell'arredo verde, paesaggismo, cura delle piante e del verde. Anche attraverso workaway.
Sebbene la mia attività quotidiana non sia più commerciale, gli spazi sono li, le piante e il giardino anche e ciò richiede lavoro quotidiano ma sia io che la mia compagna non siamo più così giovani da gestire tutto da soli!

With this project, you can learn how to sow, grow, and propagate ornamental or vegetable plants. Decorate a green space. Maintain green spaces. These are just some of the activities we invite you to participate in and learn. They are practical lessons with notions of agriculture and nursery gardening, told and explained by Salvatore, who has dedicated his life to green spaces, both productive and ornamental! Salvatore is also a renowned musician and painter, an artist in every sense! Cultural exchange with lovers of nature, music, and painting is welcome! So if you play, sing, or paint, bring your instrument, paintbrush, or voice to join in this experience!

Queste sono solo alcune delle attività a cui ti proponiamo di partecipare e che potresti imparare, sono insegnamenti pratici con nozioni di agricoltura e vivaistica raccontati e spiegati da Salvatore che ha dedicato la sua vita agli spazi verdi, sia produttivi che ornamentali!
Salvatore è anche un famoso musicista e pittore, un artista a tutto campo! Lo scambio culturale con amanti, oltre che della natura anche della musica e della pittura è benvenuto! Quindi se suoni o canti o dipingi porta con te il tuo strumento, il tuo pennello o la tua voce per unirti a questa esperienza! -

We need help with plant maintenance such as repotting, planting new trees, monitoring cuttings. Our house also may need some improvement, including creating a tool shed and a firewood shed, and new spaces for the plants. If you're also capable of small renovations, we need help with painting, stucco, and other seasonal interior work!
Abbiamo bisogno di aiuto per la manutenzione delle piante come travasi, semina di nuovi alberi, monitoraggio delle talee.
Anche la struttura abitativa può avere bisogno di sistemazione, creare una tettoia, una casetta per la legna, spazi nuovi per le nuove piante. Se sai fare anche piccole ristrutturazioni, abbiamo bisogno di aiuto per imbiancare, stuccare e altri lavoretti stagionali interni all'appartamento! -

Io e Antonella, la mia compagna, abbiamo vissuto in diversi paesi, conosciamo diverse culture, modi di vivere e anche lingue. Pensiamo che la comunicazione sia importante per creare nuove conoscenze. -
Hébergement
We offer two options: the first is a small apartment next to the family home; the second option is a fully equipped camper with a kitchen, a dedicated outdoor bathroom, sleeping four, and an outdoor area with a BBQ.
Food will be normally provided by us, 3 times a day. Our place is in Salento, south of Apulia region, where food is part of local culture and identity. We will be pleased to share food and stories about It. Salvatore in the past was very involved in vegetable sustainable production and has a lot of knowledge in this field for sharing. Fuerthermore, we consume our own vegetables, depending on the season and earth prosperity. Eating together with a Salento family will be an amazing experience! In alternative (or occasionally) we will cook and provide the three meals for the workawayers.

You'll find a welcoming space both for its nature and for the people who manage it. Salvatore has created a unique biodiversity-rich forest on the outskirts of Salento, including plants, a bamboo grove, a turtle pond, and various tree species. We are driven by a passion for art and nature, two elements that come together in this forest, which Salvatore calls the Brigantifera Forest. For years, it has been a hub for new ethnic music from Salento. And it's still alive and well.
Troverai uno spazio accogliente sia per la sua natura che per le persone che lo gestiscono. Salvatore ha fatto nascere alle porte del Salento un bosco unico per la sua biodiversità che include essenze, un boschetto di bambù, uno stagno di tartarughe e alberi di diverse specie. Siamo motivati dalla passione per l'arte e per il verde, due elementi che si incontrano proprio in questo bosco che Salvatore chiama Foresta Brigantifera e che per anni è stato un laboratorio di nuova musica etnica salentina. Ed è ancora in movimento. -

Possiamo offrire due soluzioni per l'alloggio con camper o roulotte propria: una soluzione consiste in un parcheggio in aperta campagna, luogo in cui si svolgeranno anche attività del nostro progetto verde. In questo caso lo spazio che rendiamo disponibile è di circa 80mq. Una seconda opzione consiste in un parcheggio presso il nostro vivaio, cuore del progetto verde. In questo caso lo spazio disponibile è di circa 50mq. Presso il vivaio è possibile accedere ad un servizio igenico esterno completo di doccia, a disposizione esclusiva degli ospiti.
