Speak Norwegian or English with our daughter and help with babysitting in Athens, Greece

  Description

  We are a family of three people, Myrto, Vasilis and Maya, our daughter of 7 years old. We have been between Athens and Oslo. Maya was born in Oslo and she grew up in both countries. She went to kinder-garden both in Athens and Oslo until the age of 4 years and she learnt to speak some Norwegian. We continue visiting Oslo often for working or family reasons. So we are looking for a Norwegian speaker to spend time with our daughter in order to have a contact with the language and the culture. Recently we decided that we are open to host english speaking people. Maya doesn't speak english already but she has started to learn some english in school. We believe that it is a good idea to start learning english by experiential way.
  We live very close to the historical center of Athens opposite filopappou hill. I work as a ceramist, having my own business in Athens and Vasilis works as engineer mostly in Oslo. Maya is at the second class in elementary school. We are trying to have a peaceful routine and enjoying our life in Athens.

  We live in a very beautiful area in Athens, very close to historical center, filopappou, koukaki area. The guest could have beautiful walks around the area, filopappou hill, historical center, thiseio, monastiraki, plaka, acropolis. In koukaki area you have everything you need. There are many interesting local shops, bars , cafes and restaurants very popular for youngsters . The house is big with many rooms and the guest have the possibility to have a private room. The house is very pleasant since we have fantastic view directly to filopappou hill and to the sea. The house is in the center of the town but you have the sense that we are closer to the nature.
  I think that it is a nice spot for someone to experience Athens. You can spend time together with our family exchange stories, experiences, giving interesting tips for Greece and off-course having time for yourself. Sometimes if we have time and energy we can prepare meals together.

  Aide

  We are looking for a responsible person enjoying working with kids. It is not necessary to have relevant education but it is recommended to have skills to approach kids or previous experience. We are asking from workawayer to have creative playing and talking with Maya . We could ask 1-2 times night babysitting if we want to go out sometimes. There would be very useful the good ideas for tasty snacks for kids in school! We offer accomodation to one guest staying one week with us.

  Hébergement

  We provide a private room to the workawayer since we have a guest room in our house. The room is spacious and books and personal things. We have a bathroom and a second small toilet. The guest can use the small toilet and use the bathroom to have shower. Off-course we offer towel. We don’t provide to the guest food everyday. The guests are responsible for their food. We can offer sometimes meals when we have but we are not responsible to offer food everyday. The host can use the facilities of the kitchen with respect and please not the same time when we cook.

  As I mentioned above the area where we live is ideal to experience Athens. All beautiful areas are around us and you can go walking everywhere without necessary use any transport. If you want to go to other areas there are metro and buses around us. The closest metro is syggrou-fix. In our area we have what we need, from supermarkets to bars, cafes, restaurant, small shops of local products, nail and hair salon etc.
  We don’t have previous experience in workaway so we are flexible in the beginning until find the way that fit to us.
  We tell you about our routines. In the morning we wake up early, at 7:30 and go to school and to work. We are back home between 15:30-16:30 where we prepare food and eat. In the afternoon you could spend some hours with Maya, indoors activities the first days. The weekend we relax at home, do some housework, go out, downtown or out of the city with friends or with ourshelves . You can participate to some activities or spent a couple of hours with Maya. Finally maybe we go out saturday night so we need you for night babysitting.
