Welcome to our advert! - I’m Cate from 🇬🇧 , he’s Rob from New Zealand 🇳🇿
We live in a traditional Portuguese village, surrounded by nature ,olive and orange trees with 3 cats and 3 hens & bee hives
Invitation to co create a mosaic wall, task will be to select tiles in various colours, shape the tiles with cutting tools, separate the colors, then we draw a design on the wall. Using tile adhesive, place the tiles onto the design lines, next we grout the pattern and leave to dry.
Volunteers may also be interested in making clay paint from natural materials found in nature, learning how to render a wall using clay and sand, or designing and creating a mosaic wall, digging swales in a permaculture garden.There are various tasks helping with DIY projects

Learn about dry stone walling building techniques, permaculture, safe use of garden hand tools, cooking and cleaning, non violent communication

Help dismantling a dry stone wall in a garden, placing stones in groups of size in order to re build the wall using traditional dry stone or clay methods, there may be other tasks such as helping make food, cleaning or light gardening, there is always something different to do on a daily basis, pick and chose a task for the day that feels inviting

If you are taking public transport our nearest City is Porto
From Coimbra book a flix bus directly to Moite de Serra bus stop, I am happy to pick you up in Café Paisanas (cafe at flix bus stop)
If driving there is a car park in our village
Time off and things to see and do: walking around the mountains is safe and easy, there are weekly and monthly markets to enjoy as well as any events or gatherings we attend volunteers are always invited to come along and meet our friends. BBQ evenings, monthly conscious dance events and sometimes we may take a trip to the colorful city Coimbra.
Weekends are free and the work exchange is 4 hours a day week days
