Multilingual family welcomes help with household projects and gardening in Gers, France

  Description

  We are a creative Canadian couple currently renovating a beautiful rural property in south of France. 1h30 away from Pyrenees and Spanish border, 2h from Atlantic 2h30 and Mediterranean coasts. We started the renovation 2 years ago, we changed the roof, we rendered the exterior walls and other works inside and outside. Now we are working at second floor: bedrooms walls and floors plus new washrooms. Currently we are using the original washroom and toilet. Location is great, we have 2ha of land, orchard, very dark and beautiful night sky, wildlife ranging from small rodents to deers and wild boars.

  We speak several languages, including English, French, Spanish, Romanian and Farsi.
  Narcisse she is an expert in Middle Eastern culture ( poetry, literature, philosophy) and she is making extremely delicious eastern dishes. She is interested to know more about sustainable gardening and self sufficiency.
  Paul is undertaking any renovation/restoration tasks and can teach from woodworking to plumbing. He is very interested to learn how to fix engines, permaculture and pomiculture,

  Aide

  Various tasks inside of the house such as helping us on carpentry, floor and walls repairs or installation, and general help.
  Most task are physical but we won’t ask you to do anything that we wouldn’t undertake ourselves. Outside we will need help cutting grass, taking care of the orchard, watering plants and land maintenance. If you like cooking you can also join us in meal preps.

  Hébergement

  We offer a bedroom in our house, washroom and toilet are downstairs, not yet renovated. We are enjoying a variety of cuisines, North American, European and Middle Eastern dishes.
  Barbecuing in the evening is both relaxing and entertaining. Sometimes if Narcisse isn’t too tired she can bake some delicious deserts; otherwise we’ll just have to settle for her charming company!
  In our orchard everyone is welcome to help themselves with a variety of fruits, including different types of figs, pears, apples, plums and grapes.
  We eat together breakfast, lunch and dinner and we like to socialize with our guests most evenings, you are also welcome to do your own things.

  Autres infos...

  The property is located in a rural area, under 10 min drive to the closest town. You will need own transportation if you’re planning to visit the area on your own. Of course you are welcome to join us when we are visiting around or going out.
  Great villages parties all month of August and plenty of sightseeing around ( Marciac-jazz festival, Cathedral Sainte-Marie, Flaran Abbey, Pyrenees mountains, several lakes around, etc)
