  Description

  Bonjour,
  My name is Elizabeth, I am a French woman living most of the time alone in a large house in a small city named Castillon la Bataille. It is next to Saint Emilion, along the River Dordogne, and very well connected to Bordeaux by train.
  Now I am retired after a long carreer as engineer in an American global company. I am involved in the community activities (environmental issues, support to agro ecology local projects, immigration and multicultural challenges, cultural and artistic projects ...) and I am ruling a pottery studio settled in the center of the city.
  My house is a very old building (at least 4 centuries) in the middle of the city with 3 levels and a terrace at the top with an incredible view over the countryside. It is just behind the church and next to the mairie. No need to have a car, all commodities are around (food, bars, doctors...), the train station is at 6 minutes walk.
  There is a very large garden with beautifull trees, a pound with nenuphars and lotus, a sort of vegetable garden in the permaculture style with terrace over the river Dordogne. I have 4 grand children, and soon 5 ! They often come at home.
  I have a cat and 2 hens, they provide delicious eggs daily.

  Aide

  The travellers will help me to maintain the house : painting of the veranda and the garden furniture, windows cleaning, wooden floors and old furniture maintenance (wash and wax), cellar organizing and cleaning, painting of rooms.... sometimes there is some work in the garden. You may be involved in the preparation of events organized by the local associations.
  I may have my grand children at home, and you can help me to cook or play with them.

  Hébergement

  I offer a large room at the second floor with a double bed ; there is a bathroom next door (shower, toilets), almost private all the time, except when my grandchildren are coming. The view is splendid over the river.
  The travellers will have full access to my kitchen, they will take the meals with me if they wish, or on their side if they prefer.
  I like very much cooking, but not alone and twice a day ! I will be glad to share this task with you, including recipes and local "tour de main". I am not vegan , but I have almost excluded beef meat.
