French farmhouse in tranquil countryside, Pays de la Loire, France

  Description

  I am retired, speak English and get by in French . I live in the Vendée region of France in a renovated Farmhouse which has attached accomodation. This area is tranquille with lots of wild life , steeped in history and is an hour drive from the 250 kilometres of coast. The property has ongoing maintainence , mainly painting, and minor roof repairs. I am creating an organic/permaculture garden and would love some help with the garden but especially the roof.

  This is a typical French countyside hamlet with four other properties around. The neighbours have all the usual farm animals. It is 4 kilometres to the village. The wild life is interesting, I have seen deer, pinemartins, buzzards, hoopoes, red squirles, owls and many more creatures. On a clear night you can see the stars and sometimes the milky way. This area is steeped in history and has many chateaux , medieval villages, great food and wine, and is an hours drive from the coast.

  I need help replacing some tiles on the roof, putting up a piece of guttering on a barn.
  Cutting firewood. General maintainence , clearing areas in preparation for an orchard.Cutting back hedging.

  You would have your own space a one bedroom/sitting room, kitchen/dining. We can discuss food as you will have your own kitchen. There are bicycles you can use and perhaps a car.

  Helpers on thier time off can if interested visit , the Mervent forest, Vouvant medievil city, lots of chateaux, the coast, La Rochelle, Puy du fou etc best to check on line what the Vendee has to offer as it has so much.
