As Sara mentioned, my stay in Slovenia was supposed to be 3 weeks but I ended up staying for almost 3 months. What a wonderful stay I must say. Sara and Luka came to pick me up from the airport, and they were easy-going and flexible since the first day.
The work itself wasn't too much or too challenging. I liked the variety or tasks and learning
… read more about gardening etc. My favorite task was definitely the poop picking, not even kidding. On my free time I got to use Sara's car, so we went to see a waterfall and on roadtrips around Slovenia with the locals. On some free days, we went on long horse rides in places they suggested to us :-)
I loved the sense of community and all the social gatherings we had; we celebrated birthdays, the beginning of spring with a bonfire, and had movie nights the with the locals. All of them were super welcoming and made me feel like a part of the community. They definitely know how to live in the moment and are super caring and lovely. I also liked having lunch together almost daily, and laughing together about random stuff.
Couldn't be more thankful for this eye-opening experience and all the inspiring people I got to meet. THANK YOU Sara and Luka for making this possible, you're wonderful. I miss Slovenia already. Saana initially came for three weeks and stayed for over two months - and we appreciated every moment of her stay! IT WAS GREAT! Literally the best place I've been, Sarah and luka are fantastic and the people around them are just as great. I loved being around them all. the horses are amazing some better than others, not naming names (indie) the place is absolutely beautiful and the work wasnt anything too strenuous or difficult. I loved every second from

Ben came initially for a few weeks and stayed for two months, and we appreciated his stay immensely. Because he had the misfortune of being the physically strongest volunteer at that time, he got some of the most difficult tasks around the farm and did them all without issues, and he was an independent and hard worker. The animals adored him, he
… read more fit well with our local community, and he was also a big help around the house. But more importantly, his fabulous sense of humour and - I want to write care and warmth, but I can hear you cringing, Ben - made him into a part of our family, one that we cherished and will be missed. Tom and Amy were absolutely lovely and we're super happy and grateful to have gotten to known them and share our home with them. Besides the regular tasks which they were great at (and occasionally had to be stopped from overworking themselves!), they organised an English evening for the local community and that was such a wonderful experience,
… read more and the locals were thrilled that they took time, traveled around in their free time and got to know our culture. For us this experience didn't feel just like hosting volunteers, but like sharing a home with friends and helping together, and that was really precious.

My partner Amy and I stayed with Sara and Luka for 3 weeks in November. We were happy to be so warmly welcomed into their home and already miss our evenings of boardgaming and cuddles with the dogs and cats! Prior to our visit we met via video call and they were super helpful with travel suggestions, they even picked us up/dropped us off at the

We mainly helped with DIY tasks, filling and plastering the attic bedroom walls. After initially being shown how to do this by a builder we’d work independently on our work days. Additionally we cleared the horse fields of poop, fed the dogs and helped with horse lessons, as well as splitting the cooking and cleaning.
The farm is very rural so we were grateful to have use of a car which allowed us to explore an area of Slovenia that we knew little about, as well as run errands when things were getting busy for the hosts. Sara and Luka also introduced us to lots of wonderful people from their community who embraced us like their own. We were shown around the area and showered in homemade local delicacies by those we befriended - thank you so much!
In summary, we had a great experience with Sara and Luka and sincerely hope that we get to visit again to see the progress on their farm and youth activities.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

This feedback comes with a very long delay, but Amy and Tom were absolutely wonderful volunteers and I'd warmly recommend them to anyone. … read more the people that made our stay - Gal, a local volunteer, helped us a lot, and we were lucky to meet so many kind and wonderful people from the close-knit community. And of course, cuddles with the dogs & cats are missed!
We mainly helped with DIY tasks - filling & plastering the attic bedroom walls. Additionally we poo-picked the horse fields, fed the dogs and helped with horse lessons, as well as splitting the cooking and cleaning. We hosted an English Tea Party which was great fun and allowed us to give back to the community who were so lovely to us. We had use of a car which was much appreciated, and our hosts were so helpful in organising train tickets for our visit to Ljubljana, making it stress-free for us, thank you!
We are more used to well-structured workaways and had to adapt to an easy-going approach, but this worked well and enabled flexibility in our hours. I’d recommend this place for independent people who are resourceful and happy to work by themselves.
