Sam is a very helpful and caring person. He integrated our family really quickly and easily. He is not afraid in working long hours outside. He is very enthousiastic. We hope he improved even a little his French with us (5 people talking at the same time in French might be difficult to understand). Best wishes for all your dreams !

I had a very enjoyable experience with Jacqueline, Alain, Romain, Lisa and Emilie. They are a beautiful family who made me feel like one of them. They all helped me to improve my level of French. The family live in a beautiful farm surrounded by fields and flowers. My tasks were never too much and I really enjoyed spending time with the kids. From
… read more the first day the girls were very friendly and they invited me to jump on the trampoline with them and liked putting lmake up on me. We enjoyed playing Uno together and ball games. I also enjoyed helping them cook cookies, mac n cheese and jam. I always ate with the family and it was amazing being able to eat outside listening to their family talks and the views from the terrace.
They took me twice to a swimming pool, we also went to see fire works and a Viking show. I had plenty of time to visit Lyon and Trévoux and I was also able to borrow one of their bicycles to go on a ride alongside the Saône, this was really amazing.
Tank you very much to all of you for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be part of a French family for a few days! Gros bisous pour tous! 🥰Feedback

… read more is a real hit at my house. Alain is such a good laugh and very charismatic; his passion for board games is quite contagious as is his constant good humour. I definitely learnt a lot from these two! The work I did was never too much and they were always happy for me to have a good bit of free time to visit the city, or even to join them on their outings and meet their friends and family, which were always great experiences. And of course, Romain, Lisa, and Émilie are just the funniest and sweetest. I've returned home with more knowledge of K-pop than I anticipated :D, but seriously their joy and charm was touching and unforgettable.
It's hard to express sincerely how lovely this family is. I absolutely recommend this family as great hosts :)

Alain and I got along really well since the first moment. Working with him was fun. The meals were taken together and they treated me like another family member.
I got an own studio with a bathroom.
I can totally recommend to be a workawayer at their place!

Alain et Jacqueline sont très gentils et accueillants, et leurs trois enfants sont très sympas et amicaux. Je me suis senti comme si j'étais le sixième membre de la famille. J'ai participé à de très belles activités avec eux et ils m'ont beaucoup aidé avec mon français aussi; Jacqueline m'a même donné des cours de français.

… read more très belle ferme à la campagne, avec un potager, des poules, des ânes, des champs et même une petite rivière qui traverse le domaine. L'endroit est vraiment joli et paisible, et on peut profiter de la nature. J'ai dormi dans leur maison dans une chambre avec salle de bain.
Le travail a été surtout déplacement et rangement de matériaux et d'objets, mais de temps en temps j'ai aussi arrosé les plantes, donné à boire et à manger aux animaux, passé du temps avec les enfants et cuisiné.
J'ai eu beaucoup de temps libre pour me reposer, étudier, me promener dans les alentours ou aller visiter Lyon. Pendant une partie de mon séjour il y avait aussi deux autres workawayers, avec lesquelles j'ai passé de très beaux moments.

Emily, Lisa et Romain sont des enfants rusés, actifs et humoristiques. Ils m´ont régulièrement explique ce que je n´avais pas compris en français. C´était toujours divertissant et ils me manquent déjà trop. Pendant mon séjour j´ai beaucoup appris sur le jardinage, le bricolage et la vie quotidienne française. Surement la chose plus importante que j´ai appris c’est qu´il est tout à fait nécessaire de prendre un petit dessert après chaque repas ! Evidemment, il n´y a plus de vie sans dessert, c’est impensable ! Ah oui, et aussi que la force obscure n´a jamais une chance de gagner !!! Merci de m´avoir montre le monde STAR WARS ! (-je suis devenue fan-).
J´ai même appris un peu d´humour car Alain était vraiment drôle. En plus il est un super papa ! J´avais aimé travailler avec lui et j´ai adoré nos sessions avec de la musique- en fait « skip the youth » est devenu mon group préféré maintenant !
Jacqueline est une femme incroyable ! Même si elle avait travaillé durant la journée elle trouvait toujours du temps pour m´aider avec le français. Nous avons beaucoup parlé et elle m'emmenait partout. En résume j´emporte beaucoup de bons souvenirs et d´expériences a la maison. Je serais ravi de vous rendre encore une visite dans le futur. Vous avez une place dans mon cœur ! MERCI, MERCI, MERCI pour tout !

For those whose French is still a working process: What I am basically saying is; they are such a wonderful and lovely family and if you found them here on this site and you are considering staying with them as a Workaway: Don´t hesitate to send a message, it will be just the perfect experience! Johanna is a very sensitive and warm hearted person. She is very discret and efficient. Our 3 kids had a very nice time with her and they miss her a lot. We enjoyed her company and hope to keep in touch for a long time. This is exactly what we accepted when we chose to be host for workaway !

My time with the family was wonderful! It was already my third experience with Workaway, but this host family was truly exceptional. They are welcoming, generous and fun to spend the day with. … read more from whom you can learn a lot. Last but not least, the three kids are also super cute, smart and funny, and I always had a lot of fun, especially when drawing or baking with them. ;)
The farm and property are really huge, and I had my own studio, with my own room and bathroom.
The work there ranged from feeding the animals (donkeys/ cats/ chickens) to simple household chores (ironing/ cleaning) or some gardening. However, I never felt left alone and they are very relaxed when it comes to working and therefore I had enough free time to explore the beauty of Lyon.
Also, I was able to work on my French, Jacqueline even gave me some lessons where we did different reading/writing exercises to improve my skills. At the end of my time there, I became more confident in my own abilities, which really helped me a lot.
