Finally I got time and service to write about my great stay at the farm with Paul and Micah and their kids.
I spent 3 weeks on the farm. From the first moment I felt welcome. It is a dairy farm and they produce their own products ( cheese, milk, quark, yoghurt). There are always work on a farm. I was helping milking, feeding calves, fixing the
… read more fences, collecting eggs, feeding the other animals. Micah has a big garden and is growing a lot of fruits and veggies there. I did some garden work, set up the patches for peas and planted potatoes, made strawberries boxes and so on. Also helped a little bit in the household.
Work was 6 days a week and Sunday was always off.
I also had the chance to meet the whole family. They are really friendly and lovely people.

We had a wonderful 3 weeks with Rick and Pauliene. They were fun to be around and play games with. They were enthusiastic about the work even if the weather was not great. They are always welcome back.

We had an amazing time at Paul and Micah's, we cannot stop talking about it! Working on the farm was new to the both of us, but Paul and Micah involved us in every aspect of it with patience and enthusiasm. We helped taking care of all the animals, from the chickens to the cows. Rick learned how to use the bobcat, we both helped in the milking
… read more parlour, saw baby chicks hatch from their eggs, calfs being born and many other amazing things. Paul and Micah were very flexible if we wanted to go somewhere, but we mostly stayed at the farm because we had such a great time there. We felt very at home in their house and had a great time with their three little sons who provided great entertainment for us ;) Paul and Micah involved us in their family life too and we were very inspired by how they combine their farm with their family. The food we ate was mostly produced at the farm and it was very delicious. It was very interesting to see their vision of farming, keeping the wellbeing of the animals in mind at all times. I stayed here for 5 weeks and enjoyed the stay. Paul and Micah are two very nice and friendly people and the babys are just adorable. I felt welcome, just after I arrived! I came just the day the cows went out into pasture, which isn't usually for milk cows, but that's nice. Also the farm is very animal friendly.

… read more the milk went to the milk/cheese plant of Pauls family and is locally produced in milk, yoghurt, cheese and locally sold.
I liked the fresh milk every day and almost all food I eat wos produced in the big garden or from the cheese/milk plant from Pauls family.
There is loats of different work, like milking, feeding caws (with real cow milk and no replacer), collecting eggs, feeding animals, look after all the animals, if its the right time also making hey for the winter, watering the grass if it's to dry and other things. They are also willing to teach you things
I had a great time and want to come back one day...

I stayed two weeks with Paul and Micah and it was a great experience ! I learned à lot with them about farm work and life in Canada and it was wonderful to work with animals :) I will always remember this experience so Thank you Micah and Paul
