I stayed for four weeks with Colin, Nadine and the two lovely dogs Jay and Boots as a Workawayer and I had a great time there. The days started early with feeding horses and changing their rugs, cleaning stables and feeding the dogs, leading horses on their paddocks, filling hay nets and preparing the feeds for the next day. … read more working with horse from scratch as I was a bloody beginner. But my confidence around horses grew with every day and now I‘m proud of how much I learned. I felt like at home at their place and enjoyed cooking delicious meals with Nadine and having tea together in the evening. Being sorrounded by animals is something wonderful and the dogs always joined me, so I never felt alone. I also joined Nadine to a Pony Club and watched her riding which was really fascinating.
There was also time to explore the city of Perth, Fremantle, Busselton or visit Rottnest Island, which I highly recommend. Colin and Nadine took me several times to the nearest station so I could easily catch a train, but also Uber is available. The beaches in WA are amazing even though it was winter and therefore too cold to swim, I enjoyed the ocean view and sand between my toes.
I‘m very grateful, that I could stay with Colin and Nadine and I would recommend this to everyone who loves working with horses and is willing to learn a lot about them. Thank you Colin and Nadine for having me at your place!

I had an awesome time at Colin’s and Nadine’s place. They are two really nice and funny people and the food Nadine cooked was amazing and of course the australian coffee ;) I lost my heart to the dogs and the horses were so nice as well. It was very interesting to watch the lessons Colin gave. He took us to the train station so we could go explore

Charline stayed with us for a number of weeks. She fitted straight in to what we do and picked up tasks quickly. Her love for the horses and dogs showed in the way she approach each task every day. It was a pleasure to have Charline as a part of our home. She will be missed by everyone and I’m sure she will achieve her goals as she makes her way

Rebecca fits straight in from the 1st minute. She is very easy going and knows how to become a part of you daily routine very quickly.
We have warmblood Dressage horses and there was no issue dealing with these each day. My 3 dogs loved the extra attention and I would say they were as sad to see her go to her next location as we were Colin &

Colin and Nadine were super fun to get to know! Both quirky and hilarious, and both have this phenomenal work ethic that I really respect. Their horses (and three AWESOME dogs) are their passion and it shows in everything they do. I had a great time getting to know all of their animals and their adorable, sometimes naughty ;) but ALWAYS adorable
… read more personalities, and taking care of them. Mostly, I took care of the horses, which involved getting up for chores early in the morning followed by some cleaning/de-spidering of the barn until mid-morning. Then a break until mid-afternoon when I would take the horses in and clean the paddocks, then feed them and the dogs dinner. Then one more break (usually when Nadine would treat us to one of her insanely delicious and quite healthy dinners...and oftentimes dessert, too!) and then give the horses their night hay snack and a quick stall clean. Days are very relaxed as you can do all this at your own pace and both Colin and Nadine work full time during the week as well as many evening and weekends judging competitions or giving lessons. They are really busy all the time basically, and I really hope I was able to help them relax a little bit in the three weeks I was with them. They have a really lovely house and beautiful grounds...which are very quiet out in horse land so to speak...though they were happy to help me get to public transportation (about 15 mins away by car) now and then to visit the city and surrounding area.
