Workaway availability dates are from 14/04/2025 to 20/04/2025.
Hi, my name is Rodney and I live in the suburb of Ashmore, in the northern end of the Gold Coast. I am currently looking for a Workaway(s) for the next week in the area of gardening.
I work in Brisbane 3 days a week and travel there by train. I moved to the Gold Coast from Brisbane in July 2023. If you can help in any of the areas feel free to contact me for a Workaway stay: gardening, French or German language exchange, vegetarian cooking, Yoga session.

On the weekends I can take you to go surfing, for a hike in a National Park or to the markets. I can also help you practice your English if required.

I can provide accommodation in exchange for 1 hour of work each day in any of the above areas. Food is self catered. You can have your weekends free. The duration of your stay can be up to a maximum of 2 weeks.

I live in a 3 bedroom duplex with a small yard in the suburb of Ashmore, Gold Coast. You will have your own room with a double bed with a shared bathroom.

I live about a 15 minute drive from the northern beaches of the Gold Coast and about 25 minutes drive to the southern Gold Coast beaches. Public Transport by Bus/Tram to Main Beach Station takes about 25 minutes from the Bus Stop which is a 10 minute walk away. There are also many National Parks within an hours drive. There are nice weekend markets also within a 10 minute drive.

Rodney is a very nice host, always happy and friendly to share useful information about exploring Gold Coast.
Rodney spent his dayoff taking me to conservation park, see some kangaroos and koala. He also gave me a lift to Byron Bay and taught me to surf in weekend. It's my first surfing!!! So much fun!

The time with Rodney was really good. We had so much fun together. We spent 2 weeks with him and he teached us surfing what was so much fun!

Rodney was such a good host! He took us out surfing, went with us on a hike, and we enjoyed watching wild kangaroos together! He is a kind, attentive and very skilled person (especially when it comes to fancy healthy dinners!) with such a good heart. 100% recommend! :)

The stay with Rodney was lovely and the tasks were quite easy. He even took us for a hike, a surf and gave us a ride here and there. My overall experience was great! I'll be back if I'm ever at the Gold Coast again.

Alica and her friend Aylin stayed 11 nights at my place with their task predominately gardening. They did a great job weeding each day and the garden looked much better after. They were friendly and cheerful so easy to host. I will always be grateful for Alica spotting the 2 playful Koalas on the ground during our walk at Coombabah.
