Hi Travelers
We are 4km from the historical township of Kerikeri.
I am a retired Naturopath and Osteopath and well traveled myself.
I volunteered in 2 projects in Africa .. It was amazing.
We love the out doors, beaches & diving, gardening, art, refurbishing, music.
We live the dream on a beautiful farmlet in the Bay of Islands.
You have a double room in the new house
There is a fabulous huge swimming pool.
You may borrow a car (petrol your responsibility) and we supply ingredients for basic kiwi breakfast & lunch. The rest is up to you.
You will see our 100% rating for my Manly Beach and Kerikeri hosting over the last 15 years.
We look forward to your help. Tasks are varied and currently I need assistance with creative projects and in refurbishing, cleaning, farm maintenance, building gardens, building, art projects, computer help, organizing me.....etc
We have chickens, and Kat.
We grow organic food and eat healthy and practice a sustainable lifestyle.
There is so much to see and do in Northland that this is a wonderful part of the world to spend any time that you have free. Historical villages, mud pools, Cape Reinga, walking tracks, beaches ........
We can help you avoid the pitfalls of negotiating your way around a new country.

Your own kitchenette, bathroom, lounge area, games. Swimming pool.
We are seeking assistance 3.5 hours per night that you are here. This can be managed to suit.
ie working longer or shorter on some days to allow for full days off that would suit you better than a fixed weekend for instance when the weather might be bad. We can be flexible and hope that you can be also if we have a day when we really would appreciate your input. We want you to be happy and feel free to discuss your needs and wants at any time. This system seems to have worked well in the past.
We will enjoy a healthy breakfast and lunch together that I will supply and can prepare with your input .
Your evening meals are up to you. There is a fully equipped camp kitchen and you can have fruit and veges from the garden. You have your own dining and lounging area, bathroom and toilet.
This allows me some downtime for evening fasting or study or seeing my own friends if Joe is away.

You can borrow a car for local excursions. Under 25 there is a higher excess that you would be liable for in the event of an accident. You pay your own petrol.
I can help you find paid work locally if you wish to earn some income along your journey.
The Bay of Islands is Famous for its history and adventure possibilities. It is a $60 bus ride from central Auckland
In Ak there is a good bus service to surrounding area and express buses from Auckland City Airport to Kerikeri.
If you look in advance sometimes there are very cheap airfares direct from Auckland airport to the Bay of Islands airport
We are 20 mins from stunning beaches, hot mud pools, hiking tracks and Cape Rienga where 2 oceans meet is a a day trip away. The west coast with its black sand & giant dunes are also not to be missed

To be honest the best part was spending time with my 3 french "host siblings" (thanks a lot to Vicky, Elsa & Marlou) but also the work was a lot of fun. Mike was a pleasure to have stay on our home very interesting and amiable character.
He was really hard working and self-directed and loved working outside.

Lucky is the host who has Annette to stay.

It was my first workaway experience and it was fantastic. I spent almost 3 weeks with Barbara.
Advantages:
- variety of tasks
- dynamic environment
- host with good energy and sense of humor
- appreciation of your job
- possibility of creative job

I arrived at Barb's planning to stay a couple of weeks and ended up staying a few months. She's always so kind and helpful, helped me find a car and a job. The house is great in a great location, I just had a lovely time there.

I stay with Barbara for about a week and really appreciated being there and enjoyed her company. I worked in the garden and did a number of handy man jobs. The house is very comfortable and the beach just a few minutes walk. Thank you for having me in your home Barbara. This was a very pleasant and peaceful experience.

I spent a real good time with Barbara and her family and her neighbors. She's very lovely and there is lot of happiness with her. She's a little crazy and it's perfect! ; )
