I spent a couple of weeks at the vineyard with Maria y Thomas, it was my first experience as a workaway and I can say that it exceeded my expectations. The family welcomed me right away and helped me feel at home. The tasks were quite interesting, it was amazing to know the vineyard and all the delicious wine, besides getting to know the local

We highly recommend Maria and Thomas as hosts! We spent almost a month with them and it was one of the most beautiful times in our life. The whole family was really friendly and respectful. Sometimes they made us feel almost like we belonged to the family. The work was very diverse. We mostly helped with the cleaning for the reconstruction of the

Maria and Thomas were very flexible with our working hours which was perfect. The only struggle we had was a public transport. Since the Chateau is in the countryside the public transport was not that frequant, but we still took some trips to Bordeaux, St. Emilion and Arcachon. Maria was also willing to take us to the nearest train station when needed. Overall the experience was great, we got to meet new inspiring people who intreduced us to their culture and habits. The property of the Chateau was so beautiful, sometimes it felt like a fairy taile. We also recommend to learn some French before going to France. Good experience. The family was friendly, respectful, helped me in exploring the local area, were always flexible on working hours and eager to show me French cuisine and culture. I felt that whenever I have obstacles/problems, they would always back me up. The main work sphere was in the vineyard fields (tie-up vines to wires, fix broken wires,

My recommendations would be to come at the end of January or the beginning of February, then the weather becomes much better. Futhermore, there are direct busses from the bus stop next to the house to Bordeaux (approximately 45 min. drive), so it's quite convenient to reach Bordeaux and spend your spare time there. Overall, the family is welcomed and friendly, the winery is great. If you're respectful, diligent, like to maintain cleanness and see non-touristic French culture - good place to stay.

Maria and Thomas were great hosts! They were very friendly and accommodating. I had the pleasure of trying traditional French wine and cuisine there which was based on local produce. The location was magnificent and very convenient. Quiet but easily accessible from Bordeaux and close to many sightseeing attractions. Work tasks were intensive but

I feel very happy and grateful for my time there and highly recommend Maria and Thomas as your workaway hosts!Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Martynas)
Martynas was a delight to host. He is a hard working young man with drive. He was very respectful of the house, the winery , the equipment and our family. Strong work ethic. We highly recommend him to other hosts.
