    Description

    Welcome to Sítio Novos Nativos
Some places are not really “places”.
    They are invitations.

Sítio Novos Nativos is a small regenerative land project in the south of Brazil, surrounded by hills, trees, foggy mornings, birds, dogs, gardens, unfinished dreams and many things waiting to be built by good hands.

This is not a polished retreat center.
It is not a hotel pretending to be spiritual.
It is a living, breathing, slightly wild project part farm, part creative laboratory, part community experiment, part forest school, part beautiful chaos.

Here, we are slowly creating a space where people can remember how to live closer to the Earth.

We work with agroforestry, gardening, natural building, carpentry, landscaping, ecological design, food, culture, art and community life. Some days we plant trees. Some days we build with wood, stone, clay or whatever the land gives us. Some days we cook together, clean, fix things, take care of the dogs, open trails, prepare gardens or simply try to make the place more beautiful than it was yesterday.

The project was created by me hahah Pedro, i am a architect, builder, dreamer and earth-lover who believes that architecture should not only create houses, but new ways of inhabiting the planet.

Over the years, the land has received travelers and volunteers from many different countries. Each person leaves something behind: a wall, a garden bed, a song, a recipe, a bench, a friendship, a memory, a small piece of their soul hidden somewhere between the trees.

We are looking for people who are independent, respectful, curious, practical and open-hearted. People who don’t mind getting their hands dirty, who understand that community life is made of both magic and dishes to wash. Yes, enlightenment is beautiful, but the compost bucket still needs to be emptied.

You may enjoy this place if you like:

    nature and simple living
    dogs, forests and fire circles
    building, planting and creating
    meaningful conversations
    cultural exchange
mornings with mist over the valley
    learning by doing
being part of something still growing

Here, you are not just a volunteer.
You become part of the story.

The dream is to create a living example of regeneration a place where humans, plants, animals, technology, creativity and community can coexist in a more intelligent and beautiful way.

If you feel called to help build, plant, cook, create, repair, imagine and participate in this little experiment of future, you are welcome.

    Come as a traveler.
Leave as part of the land.

Travellers who come to Sítio Novos Nativos will have the opportunity to experience a deeper and more authentic side of southern Brasil, not only as tourists, but as participants in daily life, nature, community and local culture.

They can learn about permaculture, agroforestry, gardening, bioconstruction and ecological design, while helping us care for the land and understand how a regenerative project is built little by little, through observation, patience and hands-on practice.

The region also offers beautiful cultural and natural experiences. Volunteers may have the chance to visit nearby places such as Ametista do Sul, known for its amethyst mines and underground tunnels; Iraí, with its thermal waters and river landscapes; and Salto do Yucumã, the biggest longitudinal waterfall in the world.

This exchange is also a way to connect with the history of the south of Brazil: its rural traditions, native biomes, indigenous presence, immigrant cultures, local food, regional ways of living and the relationship between people and land.

From time to time, there may also be opportunities to learn about traditional forest medicines and sacred ceremonial practices, such as rapé, ayahuasca and other native medicines, always with respect, care and cultural sensitivity. Participation in any ceremony is completely optional and separate from the volunteer work. The intention is never tourism of the sacred, but respectful learning and connection.

More than anything, travellers can benefit from slowing down, being in nature, making new friends, sharing stories around the fire, learning practical skills and becoming part of a project that is still growing.

Here, the cultural exchange is not only about learning from a place.
It is about being changed by it.

At this stage, the kind of help we need is simple, grounded and very important: we are looking for people who can help us keep the land alive, beautiful and well cared for.

The main tasks are connected to the daily rhythm of the place: keeping the gardens clean, removing leaves, organizing vegetable beds, watering plants, pruning trees, taking care of pathways, helping with compost, maintaining common areas, cleaning, organizing tools and paying attention to the small details that make a living space feel cared for.

This is not about heavy construction work or extreme farm labor. It is more about presence, consistency and sensitivity. We need people who understand that plants are alive, gardens need daily eyes, and a beautiful place does not stay beautiful by magic although sometimes it tries.

    You may help with:

cleaning leaves from gardens and paths
    keeping vegetable gardens organized
    watering and caring for plants
    pruning small trees and branches
    maintaining outdoor spaces
helping with compost and organic matter
keeping shared areas clean and tidy
    organizing tools and materials
noticing what needs care before it becomes a problem

The bioconstruction side of the project exists, of course — and it is a whole universe of its own. But at the moment, it does not depend entirely on volunteers. Natural building activities may happen when the timing, materials and people are right, but the main help we need now is with the everyday care of the land.

We are especially happy to receive people who are responsible, attentive, independent and willing to create a good daily routine. Someone who can see a garden full of leaves and think: “I know what to do.” Someone who understands that taking care of small things is also part of building something big.

    Here, care is work.
    Attention is work.
    Beauty is work.
And the land answers very quickly when it feels respected.
