    Description

    hey guys!

This is a brief presentation of our place!
This is not a project that appeared overnight. It is the result of more than ten years of showing up, getting dirty, making mistakes, learning, and staying. Quiet work. Real time. Real ground.

    My name is Pedro.

I was born in Frederico Westphalen. Life took me on a long walk. I traveled across Brazil, lived in Chapecó and Florianópolis, and spent a period in China, in Guangzhou. Along the way I worked as a salesman, a real estate broker, studied engineering, then architecture. I learned by doing, adapting, surviving, and observing how different cultures relate to land, work, and time.

I started working on this land in 2013 and officially acquired it in 2018. At one point, I had everything planned to go to Italy to spend time with my brothers and work on our citizenship. Then a powerful storm hit the region. The house roof was destroyed. The travel money became a roof. One decision led to another, and instead of leaving, I stayed. We rebuilt. Then we rebuilt again. Eventually, I chose to build a new house over the old one. And that is how the Sítio truly began to take shape.

At its core, this is a response to a simple truth. Modern cities, as they are today, are not healthy for humans or for nature. Too fast, too sealed, too disconnected. The body inflames. The mind overloads. The land is treated as background noise.

Here, we do things differently. The idea is forest citizenship. Modern life meeting nature without domination or denial. Agroforestry, bioconstruction, clean water, clean air, seasonal food, simple routines. The result is more real food, healthier spaces, less inflammation, less illness. No slogans. Just cause and effect.

Over the years, dozens of volunteers from more than 17 countries have passed through this place. People on the road, curious, kind, willing to learn and contribute. It became a safe harbor for good travelers, a place where exchange is natural and community forms without force.

Now we are entering a very hands-on chapter.
January and February are for bioconstruction. We will be building with rammed earth (taipa de pilão).
Earth, water, hands, rhythm. Honest work. Collective effort.

If you feel like stepping out of the automatic world, learning something real, building with meaning, and living closer to what actually matters, you are welcome.

    We are here.

Oh... we also have a very strong shamanic roots here, so its common to have medicines from the jungle around

Notice we do not provide full meals, eventually there is bbq or other food for the groups, but mostly is required of the volunteers to buy their food, once the work routine is not of many hours.

    What we’re looking for

    - Cook / Kitchen and house Manager -

    Food here matters. A lot.

We’re looking for someone who can:

Prepare daily meals for the team
Manage kitchen and house organization and food stock
    Work with fresh, seasonal ingredients
Ideally understand (or be curious about) local plants, including non-conventional edible species (PANCs)

If you see cooking as care, not just a task, you’ll fit well.

    - Builder / Craftsman -

We are in an active bioconstruction phase, especially with rammed earth (taipa de pilão).

    We’re looking for people who:

Have experience with carpentry, construction, or woodworking
Can work with precision and responsibility
    Understand structure, tools, and materials
Are willing to get their hands dirty and build things that last

This is not a “try it once” kind of job. It’s real building.

    - Gardening & Land Care -

The land is alive, and it needs attention.

    Tasks include:

    Garden and orchard maintenance
    Pruning, planting, transplanting
    Soil preparation and substrate mixing
    Building and maintaining raised beds
General care of green areas and ornamental spaces

If you like working with plants and understand that details matter, this is your place.

    - Content Creator (Photo / Video / Social Media) -

We want to tell this story better.

We’re looking for someone who can:

Film and photograph daily life and projects
    Edit videos and images
Help manage and grow our social media presence
Capture the essence of the place, not just pretty shots

If you know how to turn real life into meaningful content, come.

    Other profiles are welcome too

If you feel you have something valuable to offer, even if it’s not listed here, reach out.
Sometimes the best contributions don’t fit in boxes.

A few things to keep in mind
This is a hands-on place. Work is physical and real.
We value autonomy. You don’t need to be told every step.
We live close to nature. Expect simplicity, not luxury.
In exchange, you get learning, experience, connection, and good food.

If you’re looking for a comfortable escape, this might not be it.
If you’re looking for something meaningful, grounded, and alive...

    You’ll probably feel at home.
