  Description

  My name is Patricia, and I retired 10 years ago, dedicating myself since then to the maintenance, conservation, and protection of Kalinantli.
  
  Kalinantli is a beautiful area that was initially built for our family to spend time together. Over the years, it has grown and more recently has become an area for conservation and eco-tourism with the objective that more people are able to immerse themselves in nature while learning about the importance of taking care of our natural environment.
  
  In Kalinantli, there is a small team of workers dedicated to planting, maintenance, cleaning, and looking after animals.
  
  Mi nombre es Patricia, y hace 10 años que me jubilé. Desde entonces, me he dedicado al mantenimiento, la conservación y la protección de Kalinantli.
  
  Kalinantli es un hermoso espacio que inicialmente fue creado para nuestra familia, pero con el tiempo se ha convertido en un lugar de conservación y ecoturismo, con el objetivo de que más personas puedan conocer la naturaleza en esta región de México y comprender la importancia de cuidarla.
  
  En Kalinantli, hay un pequeño equipo de trabajadores dedicados al mantenimiento, la siembra, la limpieza del espacio y el cuidado de los animales.

  Aide

  I am interested in engaging in a knowledge exchange focused on the protection, maintenance, and conservation of natural resources, as well as learning about and implementing permaculture techniques in vegetable gardens, family orchards, and ornamental plants. In addition I am interested in people who would like to contribute actively to creative art projects using local materials from the area.
  
  I would also like to practice my English whenever possible.
  
  Me interesa realizar un intercambio de conocimientos que se centren tanto en la protección, el mantenimiento y la conservación de los recursos naturales, así como en el conocimiento y la aplicación de la permacultura en el cultivo de hortalizas, huertos familiares y plantas ornamentales.
  
  También me gustaría tener la oportunidad de practicar mi inglés siempre que sea posible.

  Hébergement

  You'll have a space to yourself in the hostel, which includes a comfortable rest area, a shower, a bathroom, and a terrace upstairs. Sometimes there are guests in the hostel; however, we'll try to ensure you have a separate section for most of your stay so you can have a private area to relax.
  
  The kitchen is located outside, near a dining area that will be shared with other people who work and live on-site.
  There's also a pool area for relaxation and a shala for yoga practice in your free time. We offer Wi-Fi with good speeds in some areas of the camp and in the hostel.
  
  You'll be provided with a selection of food, and volunteers should be able to prepare their own meals with available ingredients. This will include fresh eggs, tortillas, beans, rice, coffee, milk, bread, fruits, vegetables, meat, etc.
  
  Tendrás un espacio para ti en el hostal, el cual cuenta con una zona cómoda para descansar, una regadera, baño y una terraza en la planta alta. A veces hay huéspedes en el hostal; sin embargo, intentaremos asegurarnos de que tengas una sección separada durante la mayor parte de tu estancia para que puedas contar con un área privada para relajarte.
  
  La cocina se encuentra en el exterior, cerca de un área de comedor que será compartida con otras personas que trabajan y viven en el lugar.
  También hay una zona de alberca para relajarse y un shala para la práctica de yoga en tu tiempo libre. Ofrecemos servicio de Wifi con buena velocidad en algunas áreas del campamento y en el hostal.
  
  Se te proporcionará una selección de alimentos, y el voluntario deberá ser capaz de preparar su propia comida con los ingredientes disponibles. Esto incluirá huevos frescos, tortillas, frijoles, arroz, café, leche, pan, frutas, verduras, carne, etc.

  Kalinantli is located close to Jalcomulco. It's about 5-10 minutes by car or approximately 20 minutes on foot. In Jalcomulco, you can find a good selection of shops and restaurants. Regarding transportation, there are taxis that can take you from Jalcomulco to Coatepec and Xalapa, which are the closest cities. There is also a bus service that operates daily between Xalapa, Coatepec, and Jalcomulco; however, the schedule is not particularly regular or reliable. If you're not in a rush, this is also another option.
  
  Jalcomulco is a popular eco-tourism destination that attracts Mexican and international visitors. There are various companies dedicated to offering rafting, rappelling, and other adventure excursions, in addition to some more relaxing options like massages and temazcales.
  
  Kalínantli se encuentra muy cerca del pueblo de Jalcomulco. Está a unos 5-10 minutos en coche o aproximadamente a 20 minutos caminando desde Kalínantli. En el pueblo, puedes encontrar una buena variedad de tiendas y restaurantes. Hay servicios de taxis que pueden llevarte a Coatepec y Xalapa, que son las ciudades más grandes cercanas a Jalcomulco. También hay autobuses que van a Coatepec y Xalapa, aunque sus horarios suelen ser irregulares.
  
  Jalcomulco es un pueblo que atrae visitantes tanto nacionales como internacionales debido a sus actividades de ecoturismo. Hay varias empresas dedicadas a actividades como rafting, rappel, excursiones, etc., además de opciones de relajación como masajes y temazcales.
