Description
My name is Ronald , 40 a Ugandan National. An Environmentalist by profession, a farmer , Football Coach and Climate Change Activitst. I have 3 children, Timothy, Melissa and Vanessa.
I am the Director and Founder of this foundation but we have other staff members as well. Since our inception in 2016, our Project has evolved from providing Relief to children, into empowering young people become the change they want to see in the World.
Our mission is to green the World through Climate Education . We do this by taking Climate Education right to the footsteps of Schools in Uganda, empowering young people to take action against Climate Change.
In 2016, we came up with the project after the realisation that Climate Change was becoming a serious threat to humanity Worldwide. We also realized that despite of the threat, no concrete measures had been taken by Government to address the issue and yet Schools were preoccupied by the efforts to have as many children pass in first grades without necessarily teaching children about Climate Change. Trees are being cut down at an unprecedented rate and thus carbon levels were increasing in the atmosphere partly contributing to change in Climatic Conditions.
We therefore came up with our Project with the aim of not only re- greening the depleted environment, but also empowering young people to become environmental stewards in their own communities by teaching them about the importance of tree planting in tackling Climate Change .
Ours is a story of resilience and belief. Believing that the future lies in our hands, believing in less talk but action and also believing in using the limited resources that we have to regreen our world for the generations to come. Our program in schools aims at creating a new generation of Change Makers by giving them a platform to start where they are, using locally available resources.
The project works in Jinja, Iganga , Buikwe and Mukono and Wakiso Districts .
It works in Primary, Secondary and Tertially Institutions. We have so far planted in 110 schools in Eastern and Central Uganda. We also intend to scale- up the Program to other Schools in the different parts of Uganda and later cover the entire East African region.
Our Goal is to reach out to every corner of Uganda engaging young people in Schools to take action through tree planting and growing.
We also have The Renewable Energy Program which is part of our Project Strategy that equips Schools and Communities with skills in making low- cost renewable energy aimed at carbing deforestation and overall dependence on wood fuel which exacerbates Climate Change.
Since 2022, we embarked on a Reforestation Program in Namayumba Sub County where we are planting a Community Forest aimed at restoring a Forest that was previously thriving in this Community. In 2022, we entered into a partnership with Namayumba Sub County and Busiro County to plant a massive forest in the area and since then we have vigorously pursued this mission with absolute passion, planting both Fruit Trees and indegenous hard wood tree species.Namayumba Subcounty gave us 5 acres of land for the Forest. We therefore engage our Volunteers and Interns in this scheme planting one tree at a time.
Our Green Spaces Program equipe communities with skills in Vegetable growing. This aims at enhancing Food Security in Communities and tackling poverty especially among rural women in Uganda.
We are running short course called Climate Education and Ecosystems Management which empowers Volunteers and Interns with skills in Climate Education, Community Forestry, Sustainable Agriculture and Ecosystems Management. The course offers Volunteers/ Interns an indepth outlook on Course Units like , Tree Nursery Establishment and Management, Afforestation and Reforestation, Organic Farming, Food processing, Climate Education, Herbal Soap making, Bird Conservation and Biomass Energy. Learners are offered Certificates at the end of the Course.
We have also introduced a Bird Conservation Program. As we plant more trees at our Home Base, a number of beautiful birds have migrated to our Trees in the compound! Among these is the Black Weave Bird. We have a large number of them camped at some.of.our Trees. We have carefully churned out a Bird Conservation Scheme that helps the multiplication and conservation of these beautiful species.
We are also working on a Master Plan Of constructing our new Home Base in Wakiso District which will have an Office Block , Tree Nursery and Vegetable Garden. The overarching goal is to build a Research Hub and Center of Excellence for Climate Education in Uganda.
Join this cause today as we take action against Climate Change. We welcome Volunteers, Interns and Professionals who wish to spend their free time with us. At the end of your volunteering session, we shall offer you a Certificate of Merit which will help build your career as an upcoming Environmentalist.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

1) Travellers are required to be people who love the environment and comfortable working in semi rural areas. They should have a passion for Mother Nature and should be ones who don't mind getting their hands dirty during the tree planting exercise.
2) They should between 18 - 85 years of age both male and female, from any religion, race, color and tribe.
3) Our travellers should also be in position to work with children of all age groups because our Project works mainly with School Children and youths.
4) Sometimes you will be required to go teach in the Schools alone but with the help of a Teaching Coordinator whom you will find at the School (s).
5) Volunteers will be required to pay a small fee of 5 Euros a day to cater for your meals and accommodation. The balance will help us cater for Project expenses like, buying Seeds, farm equipment and transport for monitoring projects. If you are willing to pay more, much better because it will help us achieve our dream of finishing the construction of our Home Base.
6) Volunteers should be flexible and willing to adapt and work in a new environment different from that in their respective country.
7) English is the official language used in schools and offices in Uganda. Prospective volunteers should be able to speak English, but this doesn't mean that one has to be very fluent in english but at least be able to communicate.

We recently relocated to our new Home Base, which is a 3 Bedroom House situated in Wakiso District .The house has a room for the volunteers and another for the hosts. It is surrounded by a garden and Tree Nursery situated a few meters off the main road. It has electricity, water and a green space where volunteers can enjoy the fresh air in the countryside. It is secure and the neighbours are friendly. Internet and telecommunication network is good, situated close to a hospital in case of any emergency situation. But the standard of our Home is not like that of a Hotel or the standards you've seen in Europe or the US. Ours is basic , natural and green.

Being a non-profit organization, we do not offer stipends for our volunteers. You will pay a small fee of 5 Euros a day to help us cater for accommodation and meals.
We grow our own food and vegetables, so most of the food and veggies we prepare comes directly from our garden. Rachel does the cooking perfectly well and always in time with all dishes prepared uniquely in a true Ugandan style. Breakfast is served at 8 am, while lunch is always ready at 1 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm. Visitors also have the choice of eating in restaurants around Kampala, Nansana and Kakiri.
During your stay, our team will also teach you how to prepare Ugandan / African dishes.
Volunteers should brace themselves for a hospitable reception. Ugandans are very hospitable and outgoing people. During your free time in the evenings, volunteers can go to a bar around Kakiri or Nansana and enjoy an bottle or two of beer and some fried chicken. There are plenty of bars with quite a busy nightlife in the neighbourhood. So, come prepared for fun if youre an outgoing person
Volunteers will also spend some time in the evening to experience the lifestyle of Ugandans and also visit happening places like the Ndere Centre, source of the Nile, Sipi Falls, Kitagata Hotsprings, Mountains of the Moon, White water rafting of the River Nile, Bungee Jumping, Mabira forest tour and many others.Informations complémentaires
