Looking for a Kind Animal-Lover to Care for Our Two Senior Dogs – Englefield Green, UK
Availability: 1 month - from end of July to August

    Hello Workawayers,

We’re a warm, creative couple living in the peaceful village of Englefield Green, UK. Both of us are freelance filmmakers, and our careers often take us away for extended periods. This August, we’ll be away for three weeks, and we’re looking for someone caring and reliable to stay in our home and look after our two beloved elderly dogs. Ideally available to arrive one week before our departure (end of July) so we can provide training, help you settle in, and allow the dogs time to bond—especially Cowie, who takes a little while to trust new people.

    About the Dogs:
    - Cowie is a 17-year-old chihuahua. He’s a sweet-natured little guy who can be a bit wary at first, but once he feels safe, he becomes very communicative and affectionate. He also has a heart condition, so it’s important that his medication schedule is followed carefully and that he’s handled gently.
    - Toffee is a 16-year-old miniature pinscher. She is partially blind and deaf, so she needs someone patient and understanding.

They are low-energy and enjoy companionship. Both require daily medication, so we are looking for someone who has experience with senior dogs or is confident in learning how to assist with their needs. They can be left alone for up to four hours a day, but we’re ideally looking for someone who enjoys a quieter pace and is happy to spend most of the day around the house with them.

    What We Offer:
    - A private bedroom in our home
    - Access to a large garden
    - A peaceful and scenic village location surrounded by nature
    - Walking distance to Great Windsor Park and the charming town of Windsor
    - Nearby shops, cafés etc
    - Easy access to public transport – Egham Station is 15min away by bus, with trains to Central London in under an hour
    - This is a great spot for nature lovers, remote workers, or anyone who enjoys a slower, peaceful lifestyle while staying connected to city life.

    What We’re Looking For:
    - A responsible and caring individual
    - Experience with or openness to caring for elderly dogs
    - Comfortable administering medication and being attentive to health and comfort needs
    - Calm, patient, and able to spend time at home each day
    - Someone who is clean, respectful of the space, and able to care for our home and water a few indoor and outdoor plants during our absence

If you’re an animal lover looking for a peaceful retreat and would enjoy caring for two sweet older dogs, we’d love to hear from you. We look forward to welcoming you into our home and sharing a slice of life in this beautiful part of the UK.

    Warm regards,
    A&E

Great Windsor Park is right on the doorstep—perfect for scenic strolls through woodlands, open fields, and lakes.

During your stay, we’d appreciate your help with caring for our two senior dogs, Cowie and Toffee, while we’re away for three weeks in August. Your primary responsibilities will include:
    - Feeding the dogs twice a day and ensuring they have fresh water
    - Administering daily medication (we’ll show you exactly how)
    - Taking them on short, gentle walks
    - Providing plenty of companionship, as they love attention and are happiest when with someone
    - Monitoring their health, especially Cowie, who has a heart condition
    - Watering our plants around the house—both indoor and outdoor—during your stay
    - Keeping the house clean and tidy during your time with us

Our dogs are very affectionate and easy-going, but because they’re older, they need extra care and attention. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the local area or relax while you’re staying here, but we do ask that you’re around for most of the day to care for them.

If you’re an animal lover, looking for a peaceful and meaningful stay, this will be a lovely opportunity to connect with our dogs and enjoy a cozy home in a beautiful part of the UK.
