Volunteering from Turkey back to France without using plane 🤘🏼

Hello!
My name is Youmna, I’m 21 years old and I just completed a Bachelor's in Anthropology in France. In 2026, I’ll be starting a Master’s in Gender Studies in Paris. But before that, I’m taking a gap year to learn new skills, explore different ways of living, and meet new people!

At the end of August, I’ll be in Turkey to visit my family. It will be my first time meeting them and discovering the country. My mother’s side of the family is originally from Lebanon, but due to the war, some of them moved to Istanbul. I’m really excited to finally connect with them, and afterwards, I’d love to explore more of Turkey for a few weeks or months. I’m very flexible — I just want to go with the flow and see where the journey takes me :)

After my time in Turkey, I’m planning to travel through Europe, slowly making my way back to France by the end of 2025.

Alongside my studies, I’ve been actively involved in advocating for women’s rights, minority rights, and sexual health through Planned Parenthood. This past year, I volunteered at a sexual health center, organized events, and ran prevention booths at festivals.
During my previous gap year in 2023, I also directed a documentary about women and the role of marriage, which was screened several times in France.

I’m a feminist and vegetarian, and I’m preparing this trip with an anti-racist and decolonial perspective.
I’m aware of these issues but eager to learn more and discuss how we make the world evolve !

I’m especially interested in discovering community-based lifestyles, learning about permaculture and farming, and sharing with you my anthropological way of thinking!
I’ve also played the guitar for 10 years, I love to sing, and I hold a Youth Camp Counselor Certification (French BAFA), which qualifies me to lead activities with children.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

J'ai une formation en animation auprès des enfants (BAFA) car j'adore passer du temps avec eux, j'ai d'ailleurs travaillé dans un centre aéré l'été dernier ! J'aime aussi énormément cuisiner et depuis plusieurs semaines, étant en sac à dos et nomade, préparer de bons repas me manque alors je serai ravie de le faire pour vous !
Je peux aussi aider aux tâches ménagères.
Je parle français (langue natale) mais aussi anglais très fluidement et ai quelques notions d'espagnol (je souhaite d'ailleurs m'améliorer).
Pour le reste, je suis curieuse d'apprendre afin de vous aider au mieux.
