Description
I'm a backpacker and nomad originally from Sicily, Italy. In 2021 I left my home and the company I had built to start a nomadic, minimalist lifestyle. I've been travelling through Europe and South America at a slow pace and on a budget. The main reason I travel is to find a deeper meaning in things, beyond what the capitalist, consumerist society I grew up in always showed me.
Before this life, I volunteered for an Italian NGO called Emergency, doing activism in support of victims of war and poverty. I have a degree in Digital Humanities and spent many years working in the digital startup world. These days I financially support myself as a freelance designer, though I try to keep work in a small corner of my life.
I've already done a few Worldpackers/Workaway experiences, mostly helping hostels and communities with photography and their digital presence. Having slept in hundreds of hostels around the world, I'm also comfortable with general hostel work. I'm drawn to projects involving communities, ecovillages, animal care, and social initiatives. I was born and raised in cities, so my skills lean toward the mental side of things (writing, design, digital). If you're looking for someone with experience in building, renovation or fieldwork, I'm probably not your person, but if you're happy to teach, I'm more than happy to learn and get my hands dirty. That's actually one of the reasons I'm here, to have new experiences.
I speak Italian, English and Spanish.
