Hello :)

My name is Tom, I'm 24 and from the UK, currently studying a masters in global health at the university of Maastricht in the Netherlands. I am particularly passionate about food and water availability globally and hope that after finishing my masters I can contribute to tackling the associated challenges that inequitable access proliferates.

Outside of my studies, I love to travel and a wide range off sports, and have found lots of recent enjoyment combining these 2 activities. I recently undertook a bike packing trip travelling 3000 km from Paris to Greece , and love visiting natural wonders of the world for hiking trips.

I hope to meet you sometime and contribute to help make the world a better place

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My academic foundation in chemistry provided me with an analytical perspective, however unfortunately my bachelor didn't align with many of current passions and interests however i am very grateful for the opportunities it presented including my research into chemical based solutions to tackle food security challenges in arid regions of the world. This led me to pursue a masters in global health, and i have loved the experience so far, particularly the exposure to a more socio-scientific outlook teaching me to critically evaluate preconceptions and the root causes to issues that society faces today.

I would also like to believe that I'm quite an easy-going person, who loves to learn from other people and is always open to new insights and different perspectives. I'm physically active and love to move my body as much as possible too in a large variety of ways. Finally, I would like to describe myself as compassionate for the world and people around me and believe that I thrive in team oriented environments where everybody's contributions can be felt.

Many sports play a big role in my life that i'm very passionate about including cycling, running, football, basketball, and hiking, to name a few although I'm always up for anything!
I like to read and relax also and really value spending as much time outdoors as possible.
