Hi, I'm Tom.
I'm a timber framer and tree surgeon from the UK. I'm hoping to meet earthy people who can help me understand what it's like to live where they live- travelling is always better when you have a friend who is a local! -

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Woodwork, construction and tree work. Years of living off-grid on a community farm have made me a good problem solver and diplomat. I'm practical, considerate and tidy. I can run faster with a full wheelbarrow than I can without one.

Josh's place was my favourite in BC. Incredible views, great fresh food (so much veg ha), lively social/musical scene, good work (and good progress!) Josh is a great host, I hope we will meet again to build something else one day.

Tom was really cool and we hit it off immediately. Genuinely interested in learning building techniques, he was a joy to work with. Im confident that he'll have his own building projects on the go within the next few years. I hope to visit him where ever he chooses to make his abode. He also showed me the "the Mighty Boosh". Quality english

I stayed there for about a month, and was lucky enough to see the music festival (despite the pissing rain..!) Mark and Cynthia are great hosts, I was made very welcome-even by the boaters ha- and I still think about that view all the time..

We enjoyed our time spent with Tom, he is massively productive and a great guy!! He is very skilled with power tools, truly a gifted young man.

Just when we need a tree surgeon tom showed up. He was our first workaway and was crucial in helping us get our project going. He was kind, easy going and hard working. He was very capable ion construction and especially in operating chainsaws which was essential in the early stages of our whale watching camp. We would love to have him back any

I spent ten days with JD and Kelly on Compton Island. As one of their first workawayers, the project had only just begun and conditions were quite basic. This only added to the natural beauty of the island, and incredible spot with amazing richness of wildlife! Unusual to look over the water for a few minutes and not see a whale or seal or otter
