Dave and Dorothy – a married couple working at home, working AWAY!
No children and missing our beloved fur-people; gone but not forgotten. Since attaining a certain life goal of having all of what we need and much of what we want, we are both very much looking forward to the satisfaction of travel and making new friends. Having lived in the Tetons of Idaho for over 25 years, we have a very good background in what it’s like to live, work and thrive in a service- and tourism-based community. Individually and as a couple, we remain debt free with great credit and have the flexibility to work and travel as we develop these interests.
Dorothy is a professional graphic designer, editor, layout artist and wire sculptress with a successful freelance business in a challenging and demanding arena that encompasses the Greater Yellowstone community. Through dogged persistence, talent and a mature professional attitude, she has succeeded in raising the bar for many local nonprofits and businesses since signing on with the Jackson Hole News (now the Jackson Hole News&Guide) in 1995, as well as contracting with many other local Jackson, Wyoming, area organizations. Her journalistic award-winning talents have been appreciated and sought after and continue to grow along with her many other interests and avocations. Dorothy is also an animal lover as well as an accomplished outdoor enthusiast with way above average accomplishments under her belt in the climbing, skiing and natural resource appreciation worlds. She’s a downright handy and experienced lady whose passion rises in proportion to the challenges before her!
Dave is a broad spectrum adventurer with experience, strength and training in higher risk outdoor activities like climbing, skiing, mountaineering, and off-road travel on two wheels as well as four. Dave also had a successful avocation for decades as a nationally ranked competitive combat shooter with the International Practical Shooting Confederation and remains a certified Level 2 Chief Range Officer with the National Range Officers Association to this day. He has also served his communities as a County Park Ranger, an EMT and in various positions in several states with Search and Rescue organizations dating from his early career start. Different positions in small business management helped round out a myriad of responsibilities as a worker bee, and have offered a growth medium for a guy looking for challenges and rising to meet them. He remains the perpetual student – always taking opportunities to learn and grow from every situation, job, person or furry creature he encounters. Dave and Dorothy are both experienced personal assistants and caregivers.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Experienced home remodeller - basic carpentry and roof repair, structural repair and moderate construction skills. Skilled tree sawyer and handy with a chainsaw and power equipment. Intermediate skills and experience with light trucks, forklifts, JLG lift equipment, airport hangar maintenance. Limited aviation maintenance technician skills and experience (three years.) Aircraft ground support (preflight, launch and recovery of warbirds - jet fighter and piston fighters.) Six years' experience as a metal fabricator making aftermarket motorcycle accessories - TIG and MIG on mild steel and chromoly, flat stock and tubing. Dave is also an experienced personal caregiver.

Dorothy has a green thumb and loves to garden. She is also an experienced property manager and caregiver. As a graphic artist and editor, she has worked in concert with many entities, coordinating detailed communications projects as an employee, contractor and successful freelance telecommuter. She's extremely proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and many other programs on the Mac platform. She also worked for many years as a veterinary tech and has a wealth of experience in caring for creatures of all kinds.

Dave has a successful small business with customers worldwide, as a manufacturer of a boutique class product in plastics, making GPS cradles by hand with his own handmade tooling and a proprietary process. In support of the off-road motorcycling and racing community, his cradles have been in the cockpit of adventure riders and racers around the world since 2008. It's a small business, giving great and humbling satisfaction that has enjoyed the support of his peers across the globe for the past ten years.

We also both worked side by side as property managers for a season at a ski resort in Colorado as assistant managers.

Dorothy and Dave are both hardworking, down-to-earth people of simple means. No smart phones, no Xbox. We enjoy reading, watching good movies and play time on reefs as skin divers, and are experienced woods people on the mainland. We're handy around all kinds of animals and Dave is handy around machinery. We both have great soft skills with people. Dorothy is a copy editing and graphic design pro, extremely proficient in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Dave is a writer and has handy bootstrap PC skills, but can also launch an electronic device over the fence when he's had enough with the best of them... Dave has manufactured in plastics by hand and makes a product supporting navigation equipment for off-road motorcycle riders and racers around the world. He has some fabrication and welding skills, but is not a machinist by trade. Both love all creatures and are enamored with marine life. We are stewards of every environment and work detail we take custody of. We spend our time taking responsibility, not looking for ways to make excuses. Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
