Hi, I'm Sjoerd, a 39-year-old Dutchman with a passion for traveling, discovering new cultures, and meeting inspiring people. I’ve had the privilege of going on extended journeys through South America and Asia, and for nearly two years now, I’ve been living in Portugal to embrace a new way of life and broaden my horizons. I run my own business in the events industry and have the flexibility to work remotely, which allows me to combine my professional life with my love for exploration. Through WorkAway, I’m eager to support meaningful projects, connect with incredible people, and leave the world a little better than I found it.

In my professional life, I focus on client communication, event preparation, and planning. While I’m not yet skilled in practical tasks, I’m eager to change that.

I’m particularly interested in learning about nature conservation, agriculture, and the repair, maintenance, and construction of buildings. I want to develop skills in building (wooden) structures and working with electricity in and around the house. Though I have limited experience, I’m motivated to learn and grow.

This is a valuable chance to gain hands-on experience, work with skilled individuals, and contribute meaningfully. My goal is to expand my knowledge while making a positive impact on the projects and communities I join.
