Hello! I'm Sam, I just graduated from the University of Toronto and I'm on a gap year. My father is from New Zealand so I'm coming down to visit my family, to travel and to explore the country. Having grown up in a massive city, I'm itching to be free of its noise and speed, and to give myself some time to wander in less hectic environments.

I'm a bit reserved when you first meet me but I open up quickly and become super chatty once I feel comfortable! My greatest love is for literature, and I'm always working on one writing project or another. I also love to cook big meals for my loved ones.

I speak English and French and have worked in both languages. I know a bit of Spanish from living in Argentina for a few months. As a literature major, language is my love. I would absolutely love to learn another tongue if you were interested in a student!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've worked in cafes and kitchens for a few years, so I'm a decent cook and a wiz with coffee! I can also bartend. I'm good with kids as I've worked in summer camps as a counselor for 6 years.

As I've spent 4 years studying philosophy and literature and critical theory at UofT, much of my work experience has been in university research positions as well as writing and editing roles at newspapers/journals.

Having grown up in Canada, I'm used to extreme weather conditions and I'm handy with a shovel!
