Hi, I'm Rowan!

I grew up in Los Angeles and I love the beach. I'm about to graduate college, and when I'm done I'm hoping to travel, meet people, and work on my portuguese / spanish. I went to Zaragoza, Spain, to live with a host family for a year of high school and loved every minute of it, and last summer I got back from Florianópolis, Brazil, where I lived with a host family for a few months and also had the time of my life.

I'm a novice cook (and a professional eater), and just started baking brioche buns and other treats in my town's bakery. The garden is like a second home to me, and I love hiking, walking, or anything that gets me out into nature. If I could surf everyday, I would.

I'm adaptable (from having moved around a lot as a kid), easygoing, and fun. Some hobbies: reading, playing guitar, poker, improv comedy, tanning.

I studied abroad in both Spain and Brazil to get a better grip of the languages, and my time away is the main reason I want to travel again! I loved to be immersed, and though I have little experience teaching language, I feel I could borrow from my experience learning them to set up lessons.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've had jobs or internships in many fields, from landscaping to executive search, and I took something different away from each one. For example, I stole the printer from that executive search company. just kidding ;)

Customer-facing: My experience behind the counter and register at various cafés and shops allows me to feel comfortable and helpful in customer service. In the kitchen, my experience as a baker helped me develop my speed and accuracy (and I got many delicious recipes I would love to share).

Physical jobs: I worked with a landscaping company in the summers for five years. I learned how to work with any crew (mowing, gardening, trimming, install), and went wherever I was most needed.

Sound/tech: I'm an aspiring musician with decent experience in the studio and decent experience as a tech, mixing live and doing full set and strike. I also love to DJ.
