Description

Hi everyone! My name is Raina (she/her). I'm from upstate NY originally but have been bouncing around the United States and abroad since I graduated university in 2021. I'm passionate about travel, spending time outdoors (hiking, rock-climbing, gardening...etc), dancing, playing music (I play violin and mandolin) and cooking. I love meeting people from all over the world, learning new skills and generally exploring. I will be in New Zealand from November 30th until my work-holiday visa expires and have absolutely no plans. Excited for what opportunities arise!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- Farming/gardening: I've worked on several organic veggie farms over the years and am comfortable with manual labor.

- Cooking: Worked in several backcountry industrial kitchens serving meals for upwards of 60 guests. Grew up in a vegan household so specialize in vegetarian meals.

-Living within intentional communities: I've lived and worked in very small communities for years so I'm very familiar with mitigating interpersonal conflicts and navigating communal living.

- Outdoor education/recreation: I've worked as a guide in the outdoors leading canoe/backpacking trips. I've also spent the last few years working in lodges/huts in the backcountry between 2 and 5 miles into the woods so have wilderness first aid experience as well.

- I'm so open to learning new skills and anything that this experience will offer!

I spent from January - April of 2023 backpacking around South East Asia and hope to backpack around Europe in the summer of 2024 after spending a good chunk of time in New Zealand.
