Description

We are a Dutch family, Randy, Jolanda & Sem (4.5 years old), and we love traveling. We are currently on a six-month journey. We have gone through some challenging medical years, which has completely changed our perspective on life. For us, the most important thing right now is creating beautiful memories as a family and teaching our son what truly matters in life. Volunteering, making an impact, and doing something good for others fits perfectly with this.

In addition, our interest in growing our own food has grown enormously in recent years. Our dream is to possibly buy a piece of land in the future and build our own house on it.

Randy graduated as a furniture maker and interior architect. After his studies, he started working at a design studio, where he worked with great pleasure for 12 years.

Because of the life-changing events of recent years, we felt that something needed to change. Randy quit his job, and now we have started traveling to pursue our dreams.

In the past, Randy has done several volunteer projects, including in Asia and Africa. There he made wooden furniture and facilities such as school desks, playground equipment, beds, and tables for children growing up in difficult circumstances, such as war and exploitation. This left a deep impression on him: being able to mean something for others and the genuine gratitude you receive in return.

That is why we would like to do this again now, and this time also share this experience with our son.

In his free time, Randy enjoys building and making things, boxing, growing mushrooms, hiking in the mountains, and trail running.

Jolanda grew up on a farm and loves hiking, multi-day mountain treks, growing vegetables, foraging, and creating things from nature such as balms. She would also like to learn how to make soap herself.

We are adventurous and do not yet know exactly what our route back to the Netherlands will look like. We are open to Workaways in Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Switzerland. We are curious about what will come our way and are especially looking for families with children of around Sem’s age.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We hebben thuis een grote moestuin met groente en fruit, ook proberen we paddenstoelen te kweken binnen en buiten. We zijn graag op deze plek en ook ons zoontje is dol op de moestuin. We zijn de afgelopen jaren wat meer bezig geweest met oogst verwerken en wildplukken vinden we interessant.

We houden van bouwen en verbouwen en hebben ons eigen huis geheel zelf verbouwd. Randy is afgestudeerd meubelmaker en kan alles wat hij ziet ook bouwen.

Jolanda is creatief en is werkzaam geweest als interieur ontwerper en in de evenement branche. Ze zit altijd vol nieuwe creatieve ideeën is dol op alles wat de natuur te bieden heeft.
