I would like to share my language skills, however, I have no formal training in teaching but have life experience teaching and helping my children with both English and French. I have hosted many ESL students and helped them improve their verbal English. I have had a little bit of exposure to teaching French in a west African after-school care centre. I'm definitely interested in learning more languages! Once you have mastered the language you can immerse yourself so much further into a culture.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Languages: fluent English & Swedish, proficient French, some Finnish & German.

Administrative skills (I have worked in an administrative role for 20+ years, 10+ for a gap year organization managing volunteers in Canada. Experience managing volunteers and hosts. 10+ years in marketing/sales of a distributor of a technical product, experience with manufacturing and distribution and import/export documentation. Marketing. Organized.

Lots of other work/volunteer experience: working at tradeshows selling/promoting products and services, volunteering in after school care centre, setup lunch program at kids school, organized family camp, wrote and distributed newsletter, have driven various vehicles including transport cargo vans and RVs for work, volunteered at various cultural and sports events in various roles from serving or selling foods to helping with setup/take down, registration etc. Helped with cleaning and stacking wood, helped with theatre workshop in making various props. Helped at various workshops with food preparation and kitchen cleanup.

Practical skills: cooking, sewing, knitting/crochet, can use a hammer, paint, practical nature

Standard First Aid certificate

Sports: swimming, biking, hiking, walking, yoga, martial arts, skiing, skating

Guided many volunteers and visitors around town.

I consider myself very adaptable and resourceful to make things work in the situation I'm in. I'm not one to seek attention but would rather blend in as a contributing member of a team. I'm quite used to working on my own (working mostly in smaller companies or from home) and managing my workload.

Growing up I spent a lot of time with ponies and horses and used to help with classes and horse riding camp. I haven't done much horseriding lately but every once in a while I do still get on a horse. I would be very interested in projects with horses or even other animals. Never had my own pets but do enjoy animals.

I am an active person and have tried many sports but haven't really excelled in these such as volleyball, soccer, badminton, table tennis, darts, pool, roller skates/blades, canoeing/kayaking/SUP. I can row a row boat. No sailing experience, but interested.

I practiced martial arts (karate, cardio kickboxing) for over 10 years and achieved a 2nd-degree blackbelt. Haven't practiced for a couple of years due to travel and injury.

I enjoy dancing but am not very good and couldn't teach any particular style.

Music & theatre: I enjoy music and listen to all kinds of music. Having said that, I am not a very good singer and have a bit of stage fright... Used to read notes as I took piano lessons as a kid. Enjoy drumming but not very good. As a child I very much enjoyed theatre. With friends we would often create some entertainment for the adults at dinner parties. As an adult, I prefer to not be in the spotlight and would rather help with the production, perhaps with props or costumes.

I enjoy arts like drawing but don't really practice it in my spare time. Used to do a lot in my childhood. I used to sew a lot when I was younger and also did some knitting, crochet and needlepoint.

I can cook and bake. Have some go-to recipes I can share. It is not a passion of mine but I do enjoy food and being part of a community preparing food.

Photograpy: I take lots of pictures and video using my cellphone. I would rate myself as quite average but do enjoy it! I have not created any amazing reels or movies on social media to boast about.
