Hello Everybody, Welcome to my profile.

My name is Omar. I am originally from Egypt but I live now in Genova (Liguria, Italy). I am a postdoctoral researcher in robotics. I am here in Workaway to explore the different cultures, connect with people, learn new things, practice languages, and definitely help others. I am always looking for different experiences and new adventures, especially with nature and animals. I liked the idea of this platform and joined it streaght away!

I am a very energetic, easy-going, and cheerful guy. I always like to move, work, discover, and do something new. Since I started to travel, my new friends always say to me that I am an extremely social person. They even call me the social butterfly :D :D I love being around people, talking with them, making new friends, discussing interesting topics, and learn from each other. I am an organized and well-arranged person.

I am a sporty person. Since I was young, I practiced different sports. My best ever sport for me is the Greco-roman Olympic wrestling. Currently, I do coastal rowing. The sports reflected on my daily activities in the sense that I love to always be on the move and reach a defined target. I am always in for any physical activity, whether for work or volunteering, or leisure.
Riding horses is one of my biggest habits. I have been riding since I was 7 years old.

I have contributed to loads of projects throughout my life. My best experience ever was building a solar car. I was part of a university team that built an electric car that has solar panels on its roof and the batteries are charged by solar energy. I was also part of the organization team of the European solar challenge 2019 in the Zolder circuit in Belgium.

I came from Cairo (a city with +20 million people). I live most of my life in big cities. However, I love being in nature and the countryside (I had enough of city life). I prefer the countryside to the cities. I feel more connected to people and nature.

I also lived, 6 years in Saudi Arabia. One year in the UK for my master's degree, and now +5 years in Italy for my PhD and work.
I visited Jorden, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Malta, and Belgium.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a variety of skills. The most important point is that I am a handy person and I learn very fast. Show me what to do and how to do then you will find expert hands. I am always happy to get dirty hands and learn new skills. I am also very good at computer, electrical, and electronics stuff as this is my actual university studies. I am comfortable and helpful around animals. I can take care of them. I used to have dogs and cats at my house in Egypt.
During my life, I did different types of work at my apartment. So, I have some knowledge of house renovation.
I also have a driving license In case you need help using a car, I can do that.
