Just spent a couple of months in Albania and am back on the road looking forward to meeting my next hosts! Interested mainly in helping with a business or outdoor spaces but open to everything!

A huge hello to all you welcoming hosts!

After 6 years in Barcelona and a decade in professional work outside of England, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to reconnect with the Workaway spirit. I’m a 38-year-old Brit (from Sheffield) looking for a reset from the rat race to reconnect with the travelling and sharing spirit of manual work, community, and cultural exchange.

What I bring:

My first Workaway experience was 10 years ago running a small B&B in France. Since then I've set up and run my own historical tour company, run provisions for luxury yachts, supervised the learning & development for 30 agents in a fashion company, and more recently been a Front Office Manager for a boutique Hostel in Barcelona. I’m reliable, very open minded, and a 'calm-in-a-crisis' type.

Equally happy optimising your reception system or scrubbing floors, setting up square-foot gardens, or painting fences. I've always been a Jack of most trades, bored by inertia...hence my being here, for some well needed stimulation!

I love to play the guitar *mostly alone, and am passionate cook. I've also (completely by fluke) won an international poetry prize - I'm a dab hand with creative projects. I grew up in a family of 6, so I know how to be a considerate and helpful housemate, as well as respecting privacy and those moments we all need to ourselves!

I’m looking to help, learn, and leave your project better than I found it!

I would be delighted to chat further with any host that thinks I might be able to bring some value to their project. I've just helped out for a week in Albania, building a compost, arranging a vegetable garden and building a couple of new tables to go alongside sun loungers. In my photos you'll see some of the small projects I've been doing solo at home these past few years in the garden - all materials are recycled!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am the proverbial 'Jack of all trades, master of...'
great communication skills from working in hospitality and just generally respecting all other human beings. I've brought endless top reviews to all places I've worked in, as well as my own small historical tour business i ran in France. I'm just as humble doing repetative work like cleaning rooms as i am front of house - everything has to be done!
I also used and developed these skills when i was a quality assurance analyst and coach for a large luxury fashion distributor.
Recently I've been honing some DIY and gardening skills, recycling street materials into useful garden furniture/vegetable plots and the like. I built a bar on my terrace from wood found in the street just after covid (just in case!).
I'm no professional, but i also play the guitar, piano and love to evolve my culinary skills and share them with others.
