Hi! I grew up partly in a big city and partly in a tiny village in the countryside, so I’ve always enjoyed a bit of both worlds – being around people and having lots going on, but also being outside, working with my hands and getting things done.

I’ve just finished seven years of studying medicine and have some free time before starting work. I’m really looking forward to doing something more practical for a while and getting my hands dirty.

This is my first longer travel using Workaway, but the idea itself is very familiar to me. I’ve often spent weekends with friends where we’d spend the day working on something together – renovating, making firewood or fixing a car – and then spend the evening eating, talking and hanging out. I’ve always liked that combination of doing something useful together and enjoying the time afterwards.

What I’m probably most curious about, though, are the people. I enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds, hearing their stories and discovering how differently people choose to live their lives.

At the moment, I’m heading east towards Czechia, Slovakia and Romania. I’ve travelled in Poland a few times and really enjoyed it, but I still feel like I know much more about places like France, Spain, Italy or Portugal than I do about Eastern Europe. That’s exactly what makes me curious. I’d like to get to know the region through the people, culture and everyday life rather than just passing through as a tourist.

Outside of travelling, I play guitar and sing, and I’m generally happiest when I’m outdoors or doing something with other people – whether that’s swimming, beach volleyball or some spontaneous adventure.

I’m looking forward to seeing where the journey takes me and to becoming part of a few different places along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I grew up in the countryside, so working with my hands, fixing things and helping out wherever needed has always been a natural part of my life. Over the years, I’ve gained quite a lot of practical experience with all kinds of work around the house and outdoors.

I’m particularly experienced with firewood – cutting, splitting, stacking and handling a chainsaw. I’ve also done renovation work, painting, gardening, building and repairing fences, and all sorts of general maintenance and repairs.

I’m comfortable using a wide range of hand and power tools and can usually figure out how to get things done without needing much guidance.

I’m not a trained craftsman, but I’d consider myself pretty handy and capable of working independently. I enjoy solving practical problems, learning new skills and taking responsibility for the work I do. And I genuinely like physical work, especially when you can look back at the end of the day and see what you’ve accomplished.
