Hi! I’m a 36-year-old Canadian finally pulling off a long-time dream of doing a working holiday before the age cut-off — still feels a bit unreal and I’m very excited to be here.

I’m borningly reliable, fairly fit, easy-going, and not afraid of hard work or getting dirty. I work well on my own or in a team, don’t need micromanaging, and if something needs doing I’ll usually already be halfway through it. I take real pride in doing a job properly.

I’ve got a Bachelor of Education, spent years working with kids, and grew up helping my dad in construction, so I’m comfortable with tools and hands-on work. I ran my own painting business with 15+ years experience, later became a tattoo artist and small business owner, and have since picked up plenty of practical skills — operating a bobcat, tractor and backhoe, building fencing and rock walls, milling timber, and plenty of chainsaw and firewood work.

I genuinely love animals and enjoy caring for them and learning their routines. I’m here for more than just the work — I’m keen on real conversations, shared meals, good laughs, and the kind of experiences you don’t get from passing through. Practical, adaptable, community-minded, and very happy to pitch in wherever needed!

Kind of a Jill of all trades master of none.
• Extensive hands-on experience in construction and maintenance
• Owned and operated a one-person painting business. 15+ years experience
• Basic skills include taping and drywalling, tiling, electrical and plumbing
• Tattoo artist and café/tattoo shop owner
• Some experience in operating bobcat, tractor and backhoe
• Built fencing and rock walls
• Milling timber and confident using chainsaws
• Bucking, stacking and splitting firewood
• Hospitality experience in a nano-brewery taproom and banquet server at a golf course
• Successfully drove a 32 ft RV with 16 ft trailer across Canada three times without crashing (or losing my sanity 😄) — confident with big vehicles and tricky manoeuvres
• Bachelor of Education

One of my favourite things to do is chasing sunrises and sunsets. I’ll always enjoy a good card night with some great conversation and laughs!
