Description
Hello!
My name is Nina, and I’m a ray of sunshine! I love meeting new people and learning about their stories.
I grew up in the countryside, surrounded by forests and meadows in eastern Germany. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, who taught me a lot about gardening and crafting. My grandfather sparked my love for nature and hiking.
My mother was a single parent and has been running a successful business for 23 years. Because of that, I learned early on how to take care of myself. I understood the value of work and started working at a young age. At 17, I moved out and became fully independent.
In October 2024, my partner and I came to Canada. After a frustrating job search in Vancouver, we relocated to Victoria. Since the beginning of the year, we have been house- and pet-sitting, and my partner works at Fjällräven. We also bought a car and converted it into a camper.
We’re planning a road trip through British Columbia and Alberta in May and June before heading back home.
I’ve been looking for a job since the beginning of the year, but unfortunately, without success. Since I still want to have a great language-learning experience, I remembered Workaway and thought—why not give it a try!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
As a child, I learned the classic gardening tasks—mowing the lawn, trimming hedges, raking leaves, chopping wood, and more. I continued taking care of my mother’s garden up until our departure. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a deep passion for plants, both indoors and outdoors. I love getting my hands dirty and keeping myself busy.
I love all kinds of animals and enjoy taking care of them. I have extensive experience with dogs and would love to learn more about other animals and how to care for them. I’m a fast learner!
