Hi, my name is Jana. I am currently working at family wine bar and seeking some adventure for this winter. I would love to discover Europe and beyond with workaway since I have passion for volunteering and learning about different cultures.
I have travelled for work experience from hostel receptionist in Portugal, babysitting in Italy, grape harvesting in France to helping out at music festivals in Belgium. Beside that I have volunteered for various non-profit organisations in the Czech republic as well as abroad. I spent one year on European Voluntary Service at retreat centre in England, cooking for the visitors, growing herbs and vegetables with local community and facilitating events.
When I stay in my hometown, I help my family with managing the wine bar, a place often visited by elderly people. I am keen on music sessions that we hold together with customers, even thought I can just sing a bit.
In my free time I enjoy social dancing, yoga and outdoor activities such as roller-skating and horse riding. I was lucky growing up at my grandparents' farm where I became familiar with taking care of animals and living in the country.
I find myself happy when I can contribute to non-profit organisations and see the results of my work especially whilst spending time close to nature and being surrounded by people of different age groups.
I am easy-going person and also I like meeting new people when backpacking. I look forward to having good time together.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Along with all kind of hospitality jobs I worked as a babysitter of 3 to 6 year old children. I enjoy doing anything creative together with children or as a part of projects, therefore I joined decoration departments of few music festivals.
I can make crafts especially with natural materials, I am still learning about working with wood, building stages and decorating festival areas.
My hospitality experience includes hostel reception, housekeeping, serving food and drinks. I have basic knowledge of coffee making which I learnt at barista school. I used to prepare food for groups of people during my voluntary service at the retreat centre. I cook rather healthy dishes including a bit of Eastern European cuisine. I am hoping to develop my cooking and other skills through workaway.
