Hello!

I'm Rebecca, I'm a 27yo from New Zealand moving to Ontario, Canada in August on an IEC visa. I'm looking for a place to stay when I land, where I can meet some locals and help out where I can while I get settled. I am an ecologist with a BSc and have been doing biosecurity and ecological restoration work for the past few months after university. Prior to that, I worked in early childcare for four years!

I'm an avid volunteer - currently I'm volunteering on Lord Howe Island, Australia doing weed control work! I love getting out into nature and learning about different plants and animals. I'm also a big fan of city life, particularly attending the cinema and trying out different cafes and restaurants. I'm hoping to enjoy all of these things in Canada and would love to share my own knowledge with others :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have four years of experience in early childhood education, as both a nanny and a teaching assistant in early childhood centers. I have a New Zealand certificate in early childhood education.

I am experienced working outdoors, doing garden and farm work. Previously, I have done 'WOOFing' on organic farms in Europe. I can do long days outside and have good plant ID skills, and some proficiency in hand tools.

Finally, I have grown up with pets and have done pet-sitting previously - I'm comfortable with all animals and love to meet new friends :)

I'm always happy to learn new skills as well - teach me what you know!
