Description

We are a Colombian and American couple ages 25 and 23 eager to help and learn through a cultural exchange program in Europe.


Sandra Milena
I am from Manizales, Caldas, Colombia I grew up in a small city around mountains and coffee, ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the world around me and dreamed of discovering and understanding it, throughout my life, every step I have taken has been driven by that goal. It was this passion that let me to become a History and Geography teacher, and also a traveler of the world.
Moving to the United States for two years was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It gave me the opportunity to learn a new language, step outside my comfort zone, and discover new versions of myself along the way. Today I know that the world is far bigger than I ever imagined, and I cannot wait to discover even more of it through people, languages, and cultures.
This is why this opportunity aligns so perfectly with my experience, my journey, and my dreams, and I can't wait to see what Europe has in store for us.

Drake
I was born and raised in Michigan. I have always been a lover of traveling and going to new places. Growing up I was a member of the Boy Scouts in the United States. This sparked my love for adventure and the outdoors. As I always camped and travelled to new places it forged strong bonds with some guys who are still some of my closest friends today. I love to hike, to fish and I love not knowing what lies in front of me, other than a story I will tell for years to come.
I am a fast learner, a hard worker, and I love to try new things.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Sandra:
I am responsible, adaptable, and enthusiastic person with experience living and working abroad. For the past two years, I have worked as an Au Pair in the United States, caring for children of different ages, supporting daily routines, organizing activities, and helping create a positive and safe environment for them.

I have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and I enjoy connecting with people from different cultures. I am fluent in Spanish and have a good level of English, which allows me to communicate effectively in international environments.

I am organized, reliable, patient, and always willing to learn new skills. I can help with childcare, household tasks, cooking simple meals, pet care, gardening, language exchange, and general assistance around the home. I enjoy working as part of a team and adapting to new situations.

I have a degree in Social Sciences, which has given me a strong interest in people, cultures, geography, and the world around us. Through Workaway, I hope to learn from local communities, experience new ways of life, improve my skills, and contribute positively to my hosts while exploring new countries.


Drake:
I have always worked in customer service and sales jobs, since talking has always been my strong suit. I am always genuinely myself and I think people can see that. Genuine conversation has always been the way I can create connections with people.

I have never been shy about manual labor as well. My father owns a lawncare business, so over the years I have learned many skills from this. Whether I was mowing the lawn, working in the garden, or just carrying heavy loads, I have done lots of work outside and I am not shy about getting my hands dirty.

Being from the United States I am a native English speaker. I love to speak in phrases and metaphors and I am happy to teach you words and phrases to help anyone learn English who has the desire to learn. Writing has always been a passion of mine as well, so I would love to write with anyone who wants to improve their writing as they learn English.

I love animals as I have always had pets growing up. I have dog which I have had all my life. She is currently 17 years old and just as happy as ever (just maybe not as fast). I also have a cat whom I love dearly. He is extremely friendly and active. I love to take him for walks through my neighborhood as all the neighbors laugh and greet him as he walks by.

I have always been good at finding unique solutions to problems as I tend to think outside the box. This makes me a great person to have in any work environment as I like to come at a problem from all angles so we can find a way to fix it.



We are both passionate about travel, cultural exchange, and meaningful connections. We believe the best way to understand the world is through the people we meet and the experiences we share.
