Description

My name is Maya, and I'm a cheerful young person from the USA with a huge passion for the great outdoors! I will be traveling through Europe this June with my partner, Jonathan, after he finishes his semester of study in Denmark. Our favorite ways to experience new cultures are through music, food, nature, and learning languages.We are both fluent in English, I speak some Spanish, Jono knows a little bit of Portuguese and Danish, and we are both picking up new words everywhere that we travel and would love to learn more!

I (Maya) have a degree in environmental science, and my career interest lies in wildlife and nature conservation in the US. Back at home, I've been working for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation doing outdoor manual labor, planting trees, operating heavy machinery, and taking care of natural spaces. I also volunteer for our Whale and Dolphin Conservation as a member of the stranded mammal response team.
This spring I have been traveling with my best friend Rose, who is linked to our account. Together we've visited the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Czechia, and we will be enjoying 2 workaway opportunities in Hungary and Romania.

Jonathan (Jono) is almost finished with his environmental science degree, and at home he has been a full-time student in addition to working hard outdoor jobs including gardening, landscaping, and stone and patio work. He is the one of the friendliest and most outgoing people you will ever meet. He loves to play music, go on hikes, swim in the ocean, learn about history and language, sing and dance, enjoy all kinds of food and drink, live music, and spend time outside and with friends.
I love all of these things too :)
