I'm a huge fan of movies and music, especially live music and festivals. I'm also big into backpacking and camping. I've hiked two long trails in the US, the Colorado Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail

Description

Hey! My name is Matt, and I'm from Georgia, USA. Growing up I had a dream to see the world, but I spent most of my childhood in and around the South of the United States. It wasn't really until my first Workaway experience in 2020 that I started turning my dream into a reality. That Workaway experience led to me thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail for four months in 2021. Thru-hiking the PCT led to me working at a ski resort in Colorado for a year and a half, and now it feels like it's my time to travel internationally.

Over the past few months, I was fortunate enough to spend about two weeks exploring Spain and hiking part of El Camino de Santiago with my dad, and when I got back to America, I spent a month hiking the Colorado Trail.

Australia is first on my list for a number of reasons, but mainly because of the people I've met that are from there and because of the culture, music, and nature that Australia is home to.

I got approved for my work and holiday visa in April and flew out to Australia on 14 September. I'm motivated to learn about sustainability, new music, and surfing.

Two things that brings me happiness are making videos and spending time outside.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a pretty skilled video editor as I've been shooting and editing videos for the past four years. I've worked one summer as a landscaper, one summer doing construction (building decks and installing roofing), and a month working on a ranch doing odd jobs. I love working outdoors and getting dirty. I've also coached and volunteered with kids. I'm also very organized and enjoy cleaning.

I have a pretty nice camera that I have been using to record videos for the past three years. I've also been editing videos for the past four years or so. I mainly make weekly montage videos but have also done a couple interview series. I've recently been getting more into photography and editing my photos and messing around with Photoshop. I also love movies and music.
