Description
Hi, I’m Marina!
I grew up in the Swiss Alps, and I can’t wait to start my next adventure in Canada this April!
What makes me happiest: food, friends, music, traveling, meeting people from all over the world, and spending time with animals (especially dogs).
I’m friendly, curious, easy-going, and open-minded, and I love getting involved in new experiences.
I enjoy helping out with all kinds of tasks - from cleaning, gardening, and building to art projects and computer work. I especially love learning from locals, discovering new cultures, and figuring things out on the spot.
I love traveling - Canada will be my 40th country! I recently returned from almost five years in Australia, so my English is nearly as fluent as my German. I can also communicate in basic Italian and Spanish, and I’m keen to improve my French.
I’ve worked in a wide range of roles – motion designer (Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication, UDK Berlin), cafes, bars, rooftop lounges, and even remote mining sites doing admin, logistics, bar shifts, site maintenance, and snake handling (yes, I’m a certified snake handler! :)). I’ve also done fruit picking, farm quality control, and explored UX and AI tools. I enjoy hands-on work and creative projects, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.
Most of my Workaway experience has been in Asia, mainly Taiwan and Indonesia, and I’ve loved every second of it! I’ve helped in hostels with check-ins, activities, and day-to-day operations, as well as creative and construction projects: painting, plastering, airbrushing, and small craftsmanship tasks. I’ve also updated websites, taken and edited photos, and assisted with housekeeping.
Looking forward to new adventures, new friends, and plenty of learning along the way!

Wie geht's??? we had a great time with her and high recommend to other host, if you looking for person who can leader a team and people can trust she is the one. Not only good at hosekeeping but also computer skill about website stuff, thank you sooo much.

Definitely recommend her to every hosts and thanks to Marina very much!!!!!
Facilities are great and Andy, Linda, Jenny and Chen are unbelievably kind! Lunch was always delicious! We would sometimes go out (thank you Chen! :)) or get food delivered. Once we also did a great Potluck together.
