  • Description

Hello, my name is Manhad, long for Mani. I’m 22 years old and currently finishing my final semester studying architecture in Politecnico di Milano.
I’ve always been curious about places and the way people shape them. Architecture for me isn’t just about buildings but about atmosphere. How space, light, materials, and people come together to create a certain feeling. Because of this, I tend to notice the “vibe” of a place quite efficiently, and I enjoy being part of environments where things are being built, repaired, grown, or transformed.

Through my studies I’ve become especially interested in traditional buildings, restoration, and the relationship between architecture and landscape. Outside university I like traveling in a simple and sometimes spontaneous way. I’ve taken trips with very little planning, just following the direction of wind, chasing the greener grass on the other side, boarding a random train, or journeying to places that feel worth exploring. These experiences have made me adaptable and comfortable in new environments.

On a more personal level, my philosophy is to leave some kind of artistic impact on the planet as I move through it, something that could bring a smile to a face and make one think 'oh, Mani was here'.
Contributing to a place, improving something, or helping create an environment that others will experience feels meaningful to me.

I’m easygoing, respectful of people’s space, and I value honest communication. For me the most interesting part of experiences like this is the exchange.. meeting people, learning different ways of living and working, and contributing where I can.

    Always improving!
    Manhad

As I continue my journey with Workaway, I’d also like to improve my Italian. I can also help others practice English if needed. For me, language is important but secondary. I believe people can still communicate and understand each other through expressions, tone, gestures, and body language. Often these say more than words themselves.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As my name suggests (Mani) i really enjoy creating things with my hands. During high school I studied design technology, which introduced me to working with tools and materials. I’m comfortable using basic power tools and enjoy making and building things.
I’ve worked on small projects like making architectural models, a bluetooth speaker, lamps, sculptures, metalwork including tools like knives, installing electrical fittings and fixtures, and doing simple electronic soldering and circuit connections. I like understanding how things function and putting them together properly (atleast 93% of the time😜).
Digitally i also have a good experience with working on softwares like photoshop, MS excel, Autocad and multiple 3d designing softwares like Rhino, Revit, Fusion etc.
Because of my architecture studies I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how spaces are designed and experienced. Now that I’m nearing the end of my studies, I’m especially interested in learning the practical side more deeply, working directly with materials, construction, and real spaces.
I’m also happy helping with everyday tasks like painting, gardening, organizing, cleaning, cooking, or general maintenance. Cooking is something I like to experiment with, and I enjoy making good meals to share.
I haven’t had a lot of direct experience caring for pets, but I really enjoy being around animals and they usually seem to like me too.
Overall I’m quite adaptable — if there’s something new to learn, I’m usually curious enough to figure it out.

I enjoy myself some quiet time at some points, it's like a recharge for me. you might sometimes find me with my headphones on, walking aimlessly, staring at a small rock or bug, or just sitting with my eyes closed.
I enjoy playing chess, scrabble, table tennis, snooker, badminton, football and very importantly frisbee. i end up making people get interested in frisbee even if I don't intend to.
