My name is Maddie and I am really looking forward to my first workaway experience. I am excited to take some time to live in Spain, as I have travelled within the country before and had an incredible time. I fell in love with the natural beauty, food and way of life and am excited to have the opportunity to spend a longer period in one place.

I am excited to have the time to learn the language. Learning, reading and conversing are some of my greatest pleasures and I love meeting new people so this is an aspect I am particularly looking forward to.

During my free time, I love to spend time outside, going for walks and also wild swimming. Living so near to the Yorkshire Dales means there are so many beautiful places to explore. During the last few years, I have been studying which has meant spending my days on my computer so I am very excited to spend time working outside and having a change of environment.

I love cooking, particularly when I can share that meal with people and see mealtimes as an incredible opportunity for conversation and connection. This has led me to become involved with a local community project which offers pay-as-you-feel meals, helping with food preparation, serving and helping with fundraising.

I am also someone who enjoys my own company and silence, particularly in nature, which is what has drawn me to your stay. Overall, I would say I am someone who enjoys the simple pleasures of life and following a few intense years of studying, look forward to a new environment and a different pace of life.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I would say that my communication skills are one of my key strengths. I am confident with strong interpersonal skills and good with people due to working in a range of environments. I love learning and teaching languages, so this is an aspect of the workaway I would be really excited about.

As well as this, I am confident cook and love cooking. Due to my time volunteering at the community kitchen, I am able to prepare meals for different dietary requirements and am able to make meals out of what there is. I would be more than happy to prepare meals for the house.

I am a quick learner and curious so would be excited to learn more about gardening and improve my DIY skills around the house.

I practise yoga, and also write creatively so would really enjoy having the time to focus on these hobbies. I also love playing cards and would love to learn to backgammon.
